Zalando – Inspired by ‘New Girl’

This has got to be one of my favourite ‘inspired by’ collections ever! Zalando.co.uk have put together a fabulous new collection of must have looks that have drawn direct inspiration from ‘New Girl’. And, as new girl stars one of my fave style crushes, both on and off-screen, the wonderful Zooey Deschanel.

Zooey, who I now doubt will be watching in her blonde stage very soon, in my annual watching of ‘Elf’, has a distinct style often referred to as kooky,but which I prefer to call retro eclectic. Both on and off-screen, she favours ultra-feminine prom queen styles in both primary and pastel shades. Full skirts, nipped in waistbands and strapless bodices all feature heavily in her wardrobe, along with frills and ruffles. Her character in New Girl, Jess, has a similarly coveted wardrobe.

Zalando has channeled the style and spirit of New Girl with its great pick of Christmas party frocks. There are looks from brands like Laoma and Esprit, as well as serious designer looks from Marchesa Notte and Paula Ka. Classic little black dresses rub shoulders with rich brights and jewel colours. And if you are watching the pennies this year, there are some fantastic budget buys that will look amazing.
