A Christmas Gift Guide For Men

As Christmas edges ever closer, today I am turning my attention to the men in your life. Whether they be husbands, fathers, brothers, grandads or sons, these are gift ideas for those trying to think outside the box.

As ever, this will be updated, so bookmark this post for future use.

A Gift Experience From Buyagift

The argument for the men in your life is that, often when you ask them what they would like for Christmas, they tell you that they don’t ‘need’ anything, so rather than buy them ‘something’, why not instead buy them ‘something to do’? Buyagift is the perfect place to find experiences, whether these be linked to driving, helicopters, eating out and stadium tours. These are often gift experiences that can be purchased to by enjoyed at a later date, so the recipient has something to look forward to after Christmas, and can even be swapped if they are just not right.

My key pick this season is a stadium tour for four at Anfield, the home of Liverpool FC, as this is a brilliant day out at a fantastic stadium and museum. It can also be combined with a day out in the vibrant city of Liverpool, maybe even being extended into a whole weekend away.

Men’s Loke Shell Jacket from Helly Hansen

With Winter around the corner, great outdoor wear is a priority, particularly if you enjoy Winter sports or just being active and out and about. Helly Hansen is a brilliant brand when it comes to outdoor wear, as they say, your next adventure is always ‘just around the corner’, and my key pick from their current range is the Men’s Loke Shell Jacket, which is a waterproof, windproof and breathable jacket, that can be packed easily to be stored in a rucksack.

Helly Hansen say of this jacket:

Loke is versatile and ready for mountains, forest and beyond. We built it to withstand changeable weather with our trusted waterproof and windproof yet breathable HELLY TECH® construction. We added a front storm flap to further shield you from wind and rain, and vents to prevent overheating. Fully adjustable cuffs, hood and waist let you adjust the fit and comfort for year-round outdoor activity.

Definitely a great Christmas gift idea for an outdoors type.

A Cool T-Shirt From Fields Apparel

If you are looking for a present for someone who loves cool band t-shirts, then you need to take a look at the range from Fields Apparel. Fields is a a men’s/unisex eco friendly clothing brand that has a great range with a truly retro vibe. I love how founder Andy describes his range, which was devised during lockdown:-

Designs inspired by band tees, truck logos, music, food, drink and clothing. Things that look good to wear to the pub!

The Band Tee is great, a look that reminds me of a certain British band that is created in a gorgeous soft, organic cotton that is also a regular fit – great for those who have got totally fed up of skinny fit, teenage styles. The logo on the back means that this looks good from every angle, and at £26, this is an affordable, wearable gift idea suitable for any age.

Mayfair Eau de Parfum from The Savile Row Company

Fragrance is another evergreen gift idea for both men and women, but it is always nice to receive a brand new fragrance to try out. Mayfair is the new Eau de Parfum from The Savile Row Company, which always produces fragrance of the highest quality, that is also beautifully boxed in recyclable packaging, and is the ultimate gents gift idea.

Uniquely British, this timeless Eau de Parfum celebrates the heritage and tradition of London’s Savile Row, the home of bespoke tailoring.  Top notes of mandarin, cardamom and apple are softened with a heart of lavender, nutmeg and orange flower, then warmed with base notes of Tonka bean, leather and amber. The finishing touch to one’s attire and the perfect gift for any special occasion.

This is a truly new product, as it was only launched at Freemans in early November, so would definitely be a real, exclusive treat.

Hercule Poirot’s Silent Night: The New Hercule Poirot Mystery

If you are looking to gift someone a great read over Christmas, then take a look at the new Sophie Hannah/Hercule Poirot novel, Hercule Poirot’s Silent Night. Hannah has taken over the mantle of producing new mysteries for Agatha Christie’s most famous sleuth, and is winning rave reviews for the cleverness of the stories, and the faithfulness of her recasting of a much loved character. Silent Night as a Christmas theme, so is just right for enjoying over the festive period.
