A Maxi Skirt For Spring From Cotton Traders
The best clothing choices are those that are transitional and multi seasonal. The pieces that you can wear now and later, that adapt themselves to a range of looks and a range of seasons. One of the most transitional pieces is the maxi skirt, a 1970’s style staple that made a return in the early 2000’s, and then never disappeared.
The Print Pull-On Maxi Skirt from Cotton Traders is just one of those perfect, transitional pieces. Coming in two colour ways, navy floral print and Ivory, which is actually a mixture of pinks and blues, this is a skirt that will work with boots and a jumper, or teamed with sandals and a camisole. This is a great every day skirt that would work well at the weekend, but could also be teamed with a blazer for Summer work wear. In short, it is a wear everywhere skirt that is just perfect for so many occasions.
The maxi skirt is a pull on style with a fully elasticated waistband (a two puddings skirt as I refer to them!). This does mean you can size down, (I am wearing a size 14 in this design). There is a faux drawstring detail on the waistband and a slightly boho styled tiered skirt. The skirt also has the holy grail when it comes to skirts and dresses – pockets just below the waistband (who doesn’t love a skirt with pockets?), and has a length of 86cm which means it is not sweeping the floor.
The fabric is just lovely, a drapey, viscose like fabric which elevates the look and feel above a simply cotton skirt, making it more dressy and elegant. The beautiful colours included in the print allow you to team this with a whole host of shades, from pink and blue to white/black and neutral shades. I teamed this with a bright pink jumper on quite a cold (and breezy – check out the hair!) day, but will definitely be wearing this with a vest top and espadrilles once the weather warms up – the fabric makes it a great holiday choice as it would fold down to nothing for packing. You could also add a white shirt or blouse for a more formal look.
