Lindex Styles Winter

The bias cut silky skirt. It’s a bit of a style classic, isn’t it. It first came into fashion in the 1930’s in the form of slinky, almost second skin evening dresses that just looked incredible on the likes of Jean Harlow and Constance Bennett. Fast forward to the 1990’s and the bias cut silk shift dress was back, often teamed with spaghetti straps and Kate Moss. Bias cut skirts also found an audience, teamed with simple vests and converse, or platform trainers if you were a Spice Girl fan.

And now, bias cut silky skirts are back. Working for both evening wear, and daywear, Lindex has some amazing designs that will really earn their keep in your wardrobe because you can literally wear them everywhere. They looked great teamed with an oversized chunky jumper. They look brilliant with a vest or camisole in Summer. They work well with a polo neck aka Anna from The Life. Add a blazer and a crisp shirt for a work friendly look. Literally wear anywhere, and with anything.

I have been test driving Lindex bias cut skirts in two lengths. The Maxi skirt in satin comes in five vibrant colours and prints, but I opted for that classic ‘neutral’, animal print. The skirt is just above the ankle on me (I’m 5ft 7 for reference) and I love the fact it has an elasticated waistband which is practical and comfortable. It’s a beautiful print and I love the soft, silky satin fabric.

Maxi Skirt in Satin

You could definitely wear this skirt with anything, but on cold Winter days it works so well with an oversized jumper. This is the Lindex beige knitted roll neck jumper that I am wearing in size large. It is oversized, I could’ve worn a medium in this, but wanted it chunky and oversized so I could also wear it with jeans for true cosy days.

Midi Skirt in Satin

If you are on the shorter side, or prefer your skirts midi length, then you could opt for a midi skirt in satin. The design I am wearing is described as light beige, but is more of an ivory colour with a print that has the feel of zebra print. I absolutely love this, it is once again elasticated on the waistband for comfort, and means you can roll it over if you want it slightly shorter.

Midi skirts look great with knee high boots for a more groomed, grown up look and this is no exception. I added a classic polo neck jumper in black, but will also be teaming this with a red jumper too as I think it will contrast well.
