A Neutral Knit Dress For Autumn
As I sit writing this, the weather is just awful. It is raining heavily, it is windy too, and it is also a bit cold, In short it is Autumn, and despite it being a fairly mild one up until now, Summer now seems a long time ago. Those Summer dresses, shorts and sandals are now being put into storage until Spring comes around again, and our wardrobes start to get that Autumn/Winter feel as the knitwear starts to appear again. But fear not, Femme Luxe has some brilliant things to update your Autumn wardrobe, including ripped jeans for women, and white midi dresses, along with their iconic women’s loungewear sets, but my key pick for this season has to be the knitted midi dress, a look that combines style and the practicality of being warm too.
The Ivy stone ribbed midi jumper dress in stone is this years version of a dress I reviewed last Winter and absolutely loved. (You can read that review here). This year I have opted for a version in a more neutral colourway, which I think is absolutely perfect to use as a base a whole range of looks.
I love everything about this dress. It is a simple, lift over the head style that is both stretchy and comfortable, but also helps to both enhance, or give the appearance of curves. The ribbing is a stylish, lovely detail that makes the dress that little bit more interesting, whilst the v neckline makes this both flattering for those with a bigger bust, and also makes it a perfect base for a statement necklace or your most delicate gold chains. The model wears this off the shoulder, which adds a glamorous effect if you are planning to wear this for a night out as a great alternative to a little black dress, but I wear it with the sleeves firmly in place so that it also works well for daytime, and could be teamed with a blazer for the office – great if your office is one of those with rather cold air conditioning.
One of the great things about this dress is that it is a blank canvas in which you can add as many accessories or colours as you wish. I added a small, thin belt this time, when I wore it in the rust version I went for a thicker belt which changed the look. I chose a red belt, yellow shoes and a green bag, using the stone of the dress as a base in which to add clashing colours. This dress would also work well used as a skirt, with a thicker, chunkier jumper worn over it.
I am wearing the size xxl in this dress, which is a size 14-16 and it feels like a good fit. This is the biggest size available, but it comes in smaller sizes that start at s/m which is a size 8-10. It is a very comfortable wear, it moves when you move and isn’t constricting. It is also warm without being clingy or sweaty, a definite consideration when you’re pre-menopausal.

During the cold season, it’s important to stay warm and avoid colds and flues. Some people like to exercise and stay fit during the cold season.
