Bobbi Brown launches Long Wear Sparkle Gel.

A couple of weeks ago I pulled myself from my sick bed (I had the wretched sinusitis) to attend an event that I was seriously excited about. The Bobbi Brown concession based in House of Fraser, Birmingham, was launching a very special new product with a series of make-overs and demonstrations that promised to show the best way to achieve the glamorous smoky eyed look that is always super glamorous for evening.

The long-wear Gel sparkle offers all the colour of an eye shadow, but can also be applied as a liner with a brush for a super pretty sparkly eye. The colour can be built up layer upon layer, and you can achieve the smoky eyed look by using different brushes to smudge or define the colour. The colour lasts all day long, so you can apply your make-up and then, quite literally, forget about it. It is, to put it simply, a great new product that you just have to try.

This then was the stunning new product that was being launched at House of Fraser, in five fabulous shades, Night Sky, Thunderstorm, Sunlit Bronze, Smokey Topaz and Midnight Forest. To show how this product could become part of your make-up routine, and also how it could suit different skin tones, we were treated to a couple of brilliant demonstrations from the Bobbi Brown make up artists.

The first look we were shown (on the blonde model above) was a glamorous look that works very well for daytime as well as for an evening look. We were given hints and tips for applying the make -up and getting the look, like starting at the centre-point when applying brow colour, and going right up to the crease when putting on eye creams and shadows so the colour isn’t lost when the eyes are open.

The second look was dramatic and striking, and used the beautiful midnight forrest shade that we all fell in love with. I loved that we were also shown how to get the flawless look with the correct and conceal products that literally obliterated all the dark shadows and fine lines under the eyes, making a wonderful base for the eye products that were then applied.

I really enjoyed the demo’s and advice the Bobbi Brown team gave us on the night, and I have to say that the goodie bag was truly one of the best I have ever received, full of the most amazing products, including one that I think is the ultimate Christmas present for Bobbi Brown fans – the Deluxe eye and lip palette.
