Debenhams Press Day

Once upon a time, In the heart of Bloomsbury, there was a fashion fairy tale known as the Debenhams Press Day. A fairy tale that all who loved fashion wanted to be a part of, filled with sumptuous gowns, glorious heels and bags that I would frankly swap a handsome prince for. In addition, beauty fans were treated to a sneaky look at all the newest brands that will be on offer next season, and all who attend leave with a voucher to enjoy a treat from Debenhams latest range, ensuring the fairytale has a happy ever after.

The Debenhams A/W 2012 collection scores High in the glamour stakes. The Number 1 Jenny Packham collection is full of bias cut beaded dresses that have their inspirations in both the new Great Gatsby movie, and 1930s stars like Jean Harlow and Constance Bennett. These dresses scream old Hollywood glamour and are just full of timeless, exquisite pieces. But other Debenhams brands are not left behind in the glamour stakes, with Debut, Ben de Lisi and Julian McDonald all producing dresses of sublime quality, fit to grace any red carpet event.

The new Editions designer range continues to impress, especially the handbag range from Jonathan Kelsey which will be on everyone’s shopping lists come Christmas.Roksanda Ilincic’s neat tailored dresses also score high marks for style, and now have the Middleton factor too, making them another new season must have.

Other standout pieces were the very Art Deco black and gold accessories from H! by Henry Holland, which also reminded me of 1970s Biba, and the cute 1960s neutrals and cute cat prints from Red Herring. I also ADORED the Star by Julian McDonald collection which is full of stylish, classic cocktail hour dresses that my wardrobe wants and needs.

All in all, a lip smackingly gorgeous collection which will leave you longing for the days when it hits Debenhams stores. This is a collection based on classic style, rather than transient here today, gone tomorrow fad fashion.
