Fresh Fashion Styling From Lindex

We’ve actually had some lesser seen sunshine over the past few days, and that means we can finally embrace Summer dressing. If you are still shopping for your holiday wardrobe, or need to add some classic pieces to your existing Summer selection, then you need to check out the wonderful Holly & Whyte range at Lindex, which is a brilliant collection of dresses and separates that have the classic styling that you will be wearing every Summer for years and years.

I absolutely loved the outfit below which comes from Lindex, and wanted to show that if you are not a perfect size small, that this look is still perfect for Summer days, it is just beautiful and flattering. The skirt is the Midi skirt with embroidery that has just gone into the sale and is just the perfect Summer skirt. Why? Well for a start, it is the Holy Grail of skirts as it has side pockets on both sides. It has a partial elasticated waistband, perfect for those bloated days that I, as a peri menopausal woman suffer from a lot, and the length is midi, so it could work well as a maxi for shorter ladies (I am 5ft7, same as the model, and it is midi length on me.) I love the slightly heavier cotton fabric, which gives you the shape, and also ensures it is not see through, which can be an issue with white skirts. I also love the embroidery, which is a beautiful broderie anglais that is always a fabulous touch in Summer. In short, this skirt would look lovely teamed with pretty much any colour, with just a simple vest for day wear, or an one sleeved top for a glamorous evening look.

The skirt has been teamed with the Ribbed tank top in the red colour way, which is just the freshest styling. The model is wearing a small, so again, I have shown you can wear this look in size large and it looks just as good. The ribbed jersey gives this quite a flattering, fitted shape, and it looks equally good tucked in the skirt, or worn over the top of shorts for a casual look. I really like the fit under the arms, which is not tight, but also doesn’t dig into the skin, again it is a really comfortable fit.

The model is wearing the outfit with pretty strappy heels, but I changed this for Summer staples of tan sandals and a straw bag for a daytime look. I also added a cute brooch, and, when the day was cooler, a light coloured denim jacket that I think goes well with this look.
