Grey Leopard Print Satin Maxi Skirt From Simply Be

Animal print has come a long way since it was the domain of Bet Lynch and Marlene from Only Fools and Horses. These days it is almost considered a neutral. It makes an appearance every single season. Whether you choose to wear it as a stylish accessory, or as the main attraction of your outfit, it just works every single time.

This season, leopard print is huge. It is everywhere. From maxi dresses from the likes of Tobi, to skirts, from Tote bags to the ubiquitous padded gillets, animal print can not be ignored. (A quick check on fashion Instagram will totally attest to this.) So when Simply Be asked if I would be interested in reviewing any of their Autumn/Winter range, I knew exactly what my keywords would be.

The Grey Leopard Print Satin Maxi Skirt

The Grey Leopard Print Satin Maxi Skirt is just a complete hero piece. It is a gorgeous piece that you can literally wear anywhere, and with anything. The skirt has a glamorous satin feel that makes it look luxurious, and the style, which is tapered to have a slightly neater fit around the lower leg, makes it feel very dressy.

The skirt has an elasticated waistband, perfect for those more bloated days. As a peri menopausal woman, I just love an elasticated waistband for sheer comfort. This skirt has no zips and no buttons – perfect!

The skirt is midi length on me (I’m 5ft 7), so if you are a little shorter, it would work well as a maxi skirt. It also has some stretch in the fabric. The fabric is 4% elastane, hence the stretch. This, again makes it so easy to wear. I teamed this with a linen mix blouse and flat cream sandals, but will also try it with a red t-shirt, and a black polo neck and boots once the weather turns colder.

The skirt is true to size. I usually wear a 16 and this is a very comfortable fit. I know that this is a skirt I will wear and wear this winter.
