Holiday Ideas For Early 2018
For many people, today has been the real end of the Christmas break. Most people are back to work, and many schools will be re-opening tomorrow. The decorations are either down, or will be down within a day or two, and the lights and beauty of December is making way for the grey, dull days of January.
But one clear way to lift the gloom is by planning, or better still taking, a holiday. An early break is the perfect way to create a wonderful start to 2018. Holidays at this time of the year take all forms. This can incorporate Winter sun if you are desperately imagining yourself on a beach with a cocktail, checking out the Venice Carnival in February (this makes a wonderful Valentine’s trip), or improving your Winter sporting skills with lessons from the snow school that can be included in a holiday in a true Winter wonderland.
Winter Snow Skills Holiday
Skiing and snow boarding are great fun, great exercise, and a totally exhilarating way of enjoying the winter weather. A great Winter holiday idea is to improve your skills in skiing and snowboarding through a break that takes in lessons in these areas. The Snow School offers lessons in the Three Valleys, covering; Meribel, Motteret, Courchevel, La Tania, Les Menuires & Saint Martin. The lessons are suitable for both adults and children, which means you can do this as part of a family holiday, ensuring that the holiday has fun, fitness and family at its heart.
Venice and the Carnival
Venice is always a stunningly beautiful, over-worldly place, but it really comes alive during the Venice Carnival. Street entertainers, masks and parades, concerts of chamber music in the numerous churches, it is a vibrant, lively time and certainly one of the best times to visit the city.
This year the Venice Carnival will start on the 27th January and will end on Tuesday 13th February, so you could start your break towards the end of the carnival and stay over to enjoy a Valentine’s break in this most beautiful of cities.
Winter Sun – Try Tenerife
If you are dying to feel the sun shining on your face, then the Canary Islands are a good bet for some Winter Sun. With resorts that stay open all year around, and an average January temperature of at least 18-19 degrees, Tenerife is a pleasant way to escape from the harsh Winter temperatures of the UK.
There are plenty of things to do, from taking a trip to the Mount Teide National Park, to visiting the Masca Hilltop Village. Most days are still warm enough to enjoy a walk along the beach to watch a sunset, or even enjoy a dip in the pool.
Are you planning on enjoying a Winter break this January?
