How to add a final festive flourish to your home
It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas isn’t it? Trees are dressed, hearths are festooned with reindeers and twinkling lights, and Christmas 24 is back on the television showing the trashiest, slushiest, Christmas films around. With just 11 days until Christmas Eve, now is the right time to add those final seasonal flourishes to the home that will make it feel really festive.
Chessington Garden Centre is a one stop shop for all your final Christmas needs, ranging from trees and lights, to food, gift ideas and floristry. You could literally sort your whole Christmas here, which is great if you are the kind of person who hates shopping and wants the convenience of getting everything in one session.
So, if your house is almost ready for the arrival of the man in the red suit, here are a few finishing touches that may just be the icing on your very yummy Christmas cake.
Christmas Candles
Spiced Apple, Cinnamon and gingerbread are all smells that just evoke Christmas, and you can add this yuletide scent to your home through Christmas candles (especially if you are like me and won’t be baking anytime soon). Village Candles have a wide range of different sized candles that will add a Christmas scent to your home. In addition, flickering Church candles also give your home a beautiful, festive glow at this time of year.
Flowers
The Christmas Poinsettia is a must have in any Christmas home. Its beautiful red flowers are both poignant and beautiful – my mom takes one to my nan and grandad’s graves at Christmas. If you are not very good at looking after plants (and I’m not – I even managed to kill a cactus!) you could always opt for a beautiful silk version that will then last year after year.
Final touches for the Christmas table
If you are having guests to Christmas dinner, it may be a nice idea to allow people to serve themselves. Getting some attractive serving plates and charger places will just help make your table to look complete. Add in a festive salt and pepper shaker and all you need now is the guests to arrive.
Are you all ready for Christmas?
