I’ve recently been introduced to a fabulous children’s brand that I want to share with you. Lilly and Sid create beautiful, quality clothing for babies and children up to the age of 7-8 years, and are currently stocked in High End stores like Harvey Nichols, House of Fraser and Harrods.
Lilly and Sid sent me a lovely top for Joe to review. Now, Joe, like most 5 year olds, makes his clothes work very hard. He is constantly playing football, climbing up frames on the park, and literally doing things that leave him looking like a scruffy urchin. Joe’s clothes need to be good quality, and long-lasting. But he also has his own standards – Joe likes to look cool.
The Creeping Tiger top is a lovely 100% cotton jersey fabric. It is stretchy and quite quick, which makes it great for Autumn, when days can be cooler, but not necessarily cold. The top has a striped band, and then a gorgeous applique tiger – not a print but an actual raised patch. For those who like their labels, the logo is attached to the cuff of the sleeve.
Joe really loves this top. It looks great with jeans or chinos, and is smart enough to wear out and about, but still casual enough to play in. The tiger detail, which is lovely, and makes the quality of the top shine through, was perfect for Joe because he is in tigers group in his class, and so was really keen to wear this. The sizing is true to age – Joe is wearing the size 5-6 and this was the correct fit in both the length and sleeves.
The cotton is super soft but is also machine washable at 40 degrees. I have washed this top (inside out) and the colour didn’t run, and the top has remained soft, with no bobbling (so far). All in all, a lovely quality product with a real charm to the design.
