London to finally get a Designer Outlet
It is hard to believe that in a city like London, so crammed full of style on every street corner, with every discernible kind of shop available, you cannot find a designer outlet village. But this is currently true. When I speak to my London-based friends about spending the day at a shopping outlet, they always talk about travelling out to Bicester Village, a good 45minutes from Marylebone, leaving me in confusion – you are traveling out of London to shop? Really?
But all this is about to change with the development of a new London shopping centre. In just over 4 weeks the London Designer Outlet will open. Wembley Park is set to be the newest ‘must-visit’ destination for shopping, eating out and entertainment, all within a stones throw of the famous stadium.
Wembley Park is described as a designer outlet, but in reality there will be lots of great High Street brands based there offering discounts of up to 70% off the recommended retail price. This will make it a shopping heaven for those who like to consider themselves ‘bargain hunters’. Some of the great names already unveiled as opening at the outlet include Gap, Clarks Outlet, M&S, LK Bennett, Guess and Superdry. For sporty fans there are Adidas and Nike outlets. Tie this in with great eateries like Wagamama, Prezzo and Handmade Burger, and you get all the ingredients for a great day out.
Wembley Park, London Designer Outlet officially opens on Thursday 24th October 2013, with a special launch event, and something called ‘Bargainista Blitz Squads’, of which I have no idea what it is all about, but must admit it sounds very interesting and completely up my street. With 70 stores promised, 15 food outlets and a cinema, I will definitely be paying a visit to snap up a bargain very soon. Christmas shopping trip anyone?
