Markus Lupfer and Donna Air coming to Debenhams

Debenhams has to be one of my favourite department stores. Full of great ranges that appeal to both men and women and featuring some great High Street concessions like Warehouse, Oasis and Phase Eight, Debenhams is a store that I seem to get a host of new pieces from every season. Add into this the fact that it seems to be constantly hosting great promotions that really save you money, and that the web is always full of Debenhams Voucher Codes and you have lots of reasons for paying Debenhams a visit this season.

And now the store is about to add another fabulous reason. The Designer at Debenhams range has long been established as a great way to buy into your favourite designers without the need of a bank loan. Famous names like Jenny Packham, Roksanda Illincic, Ben De Lisi, Matthew Williamson and Frost French have all lent their non-too-shabby designing talent to producing quality ranges for Debenhams.  And now they are about to be joined by one of my favourite designers ever, the wonderfully talented Mr Markus Lupfer.

I was lucky enough to be able to attend a Markus Lupfer trunk show in Birmingham a few years ago and got chance to meet the great man himself.  He was very charming and modest, happy to answer questions about designs and influences, a very friendly person. Now, he has joined forces with Donna Air to create a range of children’s clothing for Debenhams.  I think this is just a genius move. Markus is well-known for use of sparkly motifs on knitwear, the sort of things that appeal to girls of all ages, and little girls are just going to fall in love with the embellishments in the same way that celebs like Olivia Palermo and Alexa Chung have. With fashion fan Donna on board, a mom to a daughter Freya, you have a mom’s perspective coming into play too.

The collection is exclusive to Debenhams, and  will be called ‘Donna & Markus by Markus Lupfer’. It will include all the staples of a girls wardrobe, a range of knitwear, sweatshirts, T-shirts and leggings for girls between the ages of four to 14. I’m already obsessing about the sequin ‘cool’ sweater, which I have a feeling quite a few big girls will be trying to squeeze into. Another fave is sure to be the glittery giraffe, which is just so cute.

The collection will be launched in Debenhams stores on 26 November
