Princess Eugenie Weds

Well you wait for a few years for one royal wedding to come along, and then, like buses, you get two. And both of them proved to be lovely, super stylish occasions. Following on from Harry and Meghan, last Friday saw Princess Eugenie, the Duke and Duchess of York’s second daughter, wed  Jack Brooksbank at St George’s Chapel Windsor.

This was a wedding with quite the celebrity feel, with guests including Kate Moss and daughter Lila, Naomi Campbell, Ellie Goulding, Demi Moore, Liv Tyler and Robbie Williams and Ayda Field, their daughter being one of the royal bridesmaids. Eugenie wore a glorious dress by Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Cos, which was teamed with a priceless 1919 tiara from Boucheron that was borrowed from her grandmother The Queen. The dress had a v back, showing off the Princess’s surgery scar from an operation for scoliosis that Eugenie had when she was 12, something that the princess has been widely applauded for.

The dress paid tribute to that of her mother, with a bow style feature on the train similar to that worn by the Sarah Ferguson when she married Prince Andrew in 1986. On this occasion Sarah wore jewelled Emerald Green, whilst sister Princess Beatrice was in a beautiful blue gown that had the look of Dior’s new look gowns of the late 1940s.

All in all, a warm and stylish wedding.
