Reviewed – F&F tropical Print Knot front Dress

Every wardrobe needs a versatile dress that is suitable for both day and night wear. You know the sort of dress I mean, one that could be worn for a day at the office, or doing the school run, but could then be transformed with heels and a clutch bag. The tropical print knot front dress from F&F is precisely this kind of dress, and the fact that it is also super pretty is an added bonus.

This is a really nice dress, easy to wear and with a gorgeous eye-catching print. Made in my favourite jersey fabric, this tropical print dress features a flattering knot front detail which gathers the dress and is great for drawing attention away from the tummy area. The dress has a  soft round neckline and sleeveless cut, with generous arm-holes. The skirt has a slight tulip shape to it which means it is not tight on the hips. The whole design of the dress gives an hourglass figure, even if you don’t actually have one.

I wore this dress in a size 18, and could definitely have sized down. It is generous in sizing, and the stretch adds to this. The arms felt a little wider than I would normally wear, and there was extra fabric on the hip area. That said, I love how easy this dress is, it doesn’t need to be ironed and the jersey makes it comfortable to wear (I ended up playing football in the garden in this dress – no sweat!).

The colours in the print make this very easy to match in with a whole host of jackets and cardigans. I wore it with a baby pink cardigan, and green heels – both colours matched nicely. The print also contains blue and purple so this gives you lots of scope when it comes to accessories. The black background means that the dress can be worn to a more formal occasion. I wore the dress with high heels, a clutch bag and hair worn down for a night at the theatre this week and it felt like a good choice. The next morning (feeling a little unwell) I grabbed it again, added a bright coloured lower heel, a thin knit cardigan and a tote bag, put my hair in a ponytail, and it was fine for the school run.

The dress is currently available in stores for the sales price of £8. A few sizes are left online too. I think this is a real bargain, and well worth grabbing.

    • Hi Chloe

You can get a close up of the pattern on the F&F website, my camera doesn’t work too well too close, it sort of blurs the pattern. It will be great in winter with tights too.x

    • There are so many lovely, and reasonably priced dresses on the F&F website at the moment, you’ll be spoiled for choice.
