Spring is a time that is synonymous with Spring cleaning and revamping, especially when it comes to your home. Fresher, warmer days make you want to blow away the dark cobwebs of Winter, and getting rid of your clutter and adding some fresh, bright colours to your home is a good way of doing this. Today I am going to look at just one room of your home, in this case the master bedroom, and how you can revamp this without spending too much money doing so.
The bed is at the heart of the room, but this can make it a very big and expensive item to change, so we need to look instead at how we dress it. A new duvet and hotel quality pillows can make it seem like you have a whole new bed, whilst an attractive duvet set in a bright pattern or print can change the look of your whole room.
Groupon is a great place to look for bedroom additions, it currently has a brilliant range of duvet sets, mattress toppers, pillows and sheets that will make your bed look so good, you will find it hard to get out of it in the morning.
Your Dressing Table
Your dressing table can be the real beautiful focal point of your room, it can also be a cluttered mess. You need to be careful that it doesn’t become a dumping ground for jewellery, cosmetics and anything else that should really be stored somewhere neatly. So make it beautiful – look for vintage vanity pieces in charity and junk shops, use beautiful and unusual perfume bottles for decoration, and make sure that jewellery can be stored in a gorgeous glass jewellery box. You will then have a space which looks amazing – and you will be able to see in the mirror too!
Add Some Images
Bare walls are all very well and minimal, but adding some images – whether they be family photos or some sort of print, will certainly improve the cosiness factor. One way to add images very cheaply is to use postcards. You may already have some of these in your home – kitsch holiday ones, cute animals, landmarks you have seen. These can then be added to frames which can be picked up very cheaply from Poundland and can be used to create a collage style effect. I have done this in my bedroom with old theatre and film postcards, and these look unique and interesting.
Get a rug
Can’t afford to chane your carpet? A bit bored with your laminate floor? A rug is a great way to revamp your floor and add another level of cosy to your room. The best sort of rug for the bedroom is something ultra fluffy, and the best place to put it is at the precise spot where your feet will leave the bed on those cold mornings.
How would you revamp your room this Spring? Do you have any makeovers planned for your home?
