If you thought the awards season ended when the Oscars were given out, think again. Last weekend saw the Jameson Empire awards given out in London, and although Hollywood glamour was a little thin on the ground (Olivia Wilde in her nan’s nightie didn’t impress me) there were a few looks that you worth a second look. Look 1 – Bonnie Wright channels androgyny I always love the idea of a really pretty, feminine girl in a tuxedo, so I loved that Bonnie Wright went for this look. Corrie Nielsen – Dorian Gray Inspiration
In November I was invited to the Forward PR press day. This was an eclectic mix of brands and designers that included the fabulous Lowie and the beautiful Autour d’un Point collection from Jasper Garvida. But perhaps the most innovative, unusual collection on display was that from Fashion Fringe 2010 winner Corrie Nielsen, Arbiter Elegantiarum – a judge or authority in matters of taste. Corrie’s Spring/Summer collection has its inspiration in both the darkly gothic beauty of The Picture of Dorian Gray, and the intricate Japanese pleating and folding associated with Origami. .
