Get a Body Beautiful from Burton – and support a super Charity.

So blokes, your New Year’s resolution was to  get in shape, to get  yourself a perfectly toned six-pack. You had all good  intentions, even joining a  gym and buying new trainers for that early morning run.  But it’s been so cold, and there’s been darts on the telly, not to mention footy..and  all those good intentions have disappeared faster than  Kim  Kardashian’s wedding ring. Well, fear not, Smithy and Burton have created the perfect Adonis physique, and there’s not a  treadmill or exercise bike in sight!

Burton Trekstock t-shirt

Yes the actor James Corden has teamed up with Burton to create a very special t-shirt to help raise funds for Trekstock, a  fabulous charity that raises both funds and awareness into cancers  that affect young people.  They do this through fashion, comedy and art, and then enter stage left Mr Corden, who actually designed this impressive t-shirt, drawing a very mouth-watering six-pack, a design sure to attract attention to every gorgeous guy wearing it!

I encourage all Fashion-mommy readers to buy this  t-shirt. If you’re a bloke, buy it for yourself and look the fittest you’ve ever looked in January. If you’re a lady, buy it for your other half, and get the bloke with the body you’ve always dreamed of! All net profits go to supporting Trekstock so this is a total guilt free purchase.

The T-shirt will be available in Burton stores and online at Burton.co.uk

X Factor Fashion available at Burton

You couldn’t escape the X Factor last weekend,  and a lot of the chatter related to the styling of  the contestants. From Amelia Lily’s pink hair, Mischa’s newspaper dress to Frankie’s guyliner, there was some pretty weird styling on display. So thank goodness for the suave image of the guys from ‘The Risk’ and for the sadly departed James Michael, who both looked great on the night. And I am pleased to say that a source has told me that many of the key items they wore came from the High Street, Burton to be exact.

The Risk adopted a cool look featuring shirts, tailored jackets and old style braces. The look featured the ‘Grey textured stripe slim fit suit‘ which is available on-line and has just been reduced to the bargain price of just £99! The cute braces are just £12 and come in a range of colours, whilst I absolutely adore the dark blue shirt, worn without the tie on the night.

James Michael looked like a troubadour as he sang ‘Ticket to Ride’. He was wearing a fabulous jacket that is  part of the Montague Burton heritage range from Burton. I can’t find this jacket on the website yet, I think it is due later this season, but there are other Montague Burton pieces that are currently reduced in the sale. Montague Burton Collection – Great British Heritage.

After the terrible week that showed the worst of Britain, I want to celebrate some of the best parts of British Heritage. It seemed the perfect thing to write about was the soon to be launched Montague Burton Collection that will be available in selected Burton’s stores in the Autumn.

Montague Burton was the founding father of the Burton’s menswear stores, launching the chain in 1904. The collection launched in his name celebrates the best of British in terms of fabrics, manufacturing and design. Digging deep into the Burton’s archives, the design team have produced the classic ‘Charlie’ coat that is fashioned from a coat that belonged to Montague himself. The collection also has two 1950s style wool suits that have adapted a 1958 design. They come in two colours,  brown and a salt and pepper tweed which I’m sure is currently being sported by Ben Whishaw in The Hour!

The country ‘hunting, fishing and shooting’ style knit wear is beautiful. Featuring chunky arran and cable style knit jumpers and cardigans, this will be perfect if we have yet another horrendous winter. I love details such as the rope, football and toggle effect buttons which seem to hark back to the days when every granny knew her way around a knitting pattern.

There are many other wonderful pieces in this collection that just seem to echo the days of ‘The Shooting Party‘. Jackets with leather patches on the elbows, a trapper hat and a flat cap called ‘William’ and ‘Harry’, and the use of fabrics like tweed, wool and suede, make this a collection to love and cherish. In addition to all this, the collection is truly British, being made in British Mills, using British fabrics/ Clearly something we can all be proud of.
