On Friday night I went to my very first baby shower. My sister is due to have her first baby in 4 weeks time, and, as a huge fan of Sex in the City, was bound to have a girlie get together before her new little girl joins the family. The Baby Shower are an American idea that is starting to take off in the UK. It’s the TV programme that everyone seems to be hooked on. From 8-9pm on Tuesday nights, millions of women (and men) are glued to their television sets watching the unlikeliest of TV hits, a programme that seems to be set in the sort of England that is usually confined to Midsummer Murders, and where every kitchen has that mouth-watering scent of Baked Bread. Designer Vintage Bridal Show – Oh! To be a bride…Pt 1.
This weekend, Highbury Hall has been the venue for the most glamorous, chic wedding show that Birmingham has ever hosted. The inaugural ‘Designer Vintage Wedding Show’, had sparkling style, vintage chic and sumptuous wedding gowns in an amazing setting. Imagine a trip through time to an Agatha Christie era country pile, where the elegant guests are treated to pots of Earl Grey in delicate bone china cups, and slices of the most mouth-watering layer cake, whilst being entertained by a string quartet.
