The Best Thing About Autumn Is The Trench Coat
What’s the best thing about Autumn? Is it the leaves turning a lovely shade of gold as they fall from the trees? Maybe it’s the crisp Autumn mornings? The chance of an Indian Summer? For me, it is none of those things. The best single thing about Summer turning to Autumn is the chance to wear a trench coat. Of all the coats, jackets, cardigans and cover ups that we wear, the classic trench coat is the most iconic. It works in any shade, can be worn with the belt fastened neatly, or tied jauntily, and is just as good as a short jacket as it is in the classic…

My love/hate for Rodarte.
I’m in love/hate for Rodarte. I really don’t know whether I love the designs, or hate them. At their most creative the Rodarte sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy conjure up designs that can be described as beautiful, ethereal, wispy, ghostlike, and truly stunning. You imagine tragic heroines like Ophelia, Juliet, Camille and Mimi from La Boheme experiencing glamorous suffering in Rodarte. Rodarte would’ve been the designers of choice for those lost generation divas Zelda Sayre and Lady Otterline Morrell. Get the Emma Watson evening look with Esprit
It is sometimes hard to believe that Emma Watson was once that little girl we were introduced to in the Harry Potter series of films. Intelligent, talented, and always guaranteed to look fabulous and fashion forward on any red carpet, Emma is one of the brightest British hopes in the movie world today, and, like Angelina Jolie before her, she is also happy to maintain her integrity by using her fame to speak out about issues she feels strongly about. In terms of style, Emma favours classic looks but with a twist that keeps…

Retro glamour with added feathers
I don’t mind admitting that I am truly excited about an event I am going to be attending tomorrow night. The award winning musical Top Hat is opening at the Wolverhampton Grand, and, as a huge fan of the original 1930s movie, I am literally counting down the hours until the show. Top Hat has been called the daddy of the 1930s musical, full of romance, glorious songs (Puttin on the Ritz, Let’s face the music and dance, Cheek to Cheek) and some of the most beautiful costumes of all time. And I guess that is what has got my excitement levels soaring to an all time high – the…

Monochrome Chic at Coast
For many of us, Summer is the season where we truly embrace colour, littering our wardrobe with pretty pastels and citrus brights that seem to shimmer and sparkle once we have some gorgeous sunshine. But another chic option for Summer dressing has to be the always classic monochrome. Black and white are timeless and stylish. It has been a popular choice for some of the most famous style icons of all time, from Audrey Hepburn, who first immortalised monochrome in a beautiful Givenchy gown in Sabrina, and then sent it to new heights in Cecil Beaton’s Royal Ascot gown in ‘My Fair Lady’ (Although Eliza shouting ‘move yer bleedin a***…
