Best looks and High Street finds from the NTA’s

The NTA’s are always a bit of a feeble hunting ground when it comes to stylish, classy looks. For some reason, put a red carpet in front of our soap stars, reality TV stars and TV presenters, and you suddenly get flesh on display, lots of it. Bare Midriffs, outrageous amounts of cleavage and sheer skirts flashing acres of leg and a whole lot more are the uniform of choice for this event, and so as someone who loves to look at beautiful dresses, this is one red carpet event that tends to leave me cold – colder than the barely dressed stars.

But that doesn’t mean there were no looks worth a second glance. The ladies from breakfast television looked great, and even added some High Street into the mix, wearing Coast and Phase Eight. Best friends Holly Willoughby and Fearne Cotton both chose to wear white (it seems to be the colour of the season) and looked glam and gorgeous. Hilariously, Holly was still wearing the same (now stained) dress on ‘This Morning’, which should now probably be renamed ‘the morning after.’ I also loved Maisie Williams, who looked young and fun in tulle. I may be slightly biased about this look, because, as a Carrie Bradshaw devotee, tulle and net skirts can never be a bad look.

Rochelle Humes looked as classy and elegant as ever in a coral column dress, but my two best dressed ladies on the night were also both sporting baby bumps. Suranne Jones, amazing in Doctor Foster, kept it simple and classic in black, while Emma Willis went for an unusual floral Stella McCartney dress which upheld her tradition of totally rocking this particular red carpet event.

Who was your best dressed from the NTA’s this year?

Lotto Wishlist for Spring

Can you believe that this year it will 21 years since the National Lottery began in the UK? More importantly, can you believe that in 21 years I still haven’t had anything I would class as a decent win? Yes, three numbers is still as good as it gets for me, although for my hubby it was a different story in 2005, when he had 5 numbers, and was just one off the bonus ball too. How that would’ve changed our lives…

Still, if I am being honest, I no longer play the UK lottery, having switched to the Euro Millions last year. I use the Online lottery ticket website Lottosend to purchase my tickets, as I tend to forget when I’m out and about, or just leave it too late. Lottosend gives you access to lots of different Lotto games across the world, and you can still chose your own numbers, with the site doing all the rest of the work. You receive a scanned copy of your ticket, and then any winnings are added to your account. I haven’t had my big win yet (I live in hope), but despite this, I have mentally spent a fortune in my head – which may just be the best way to spend it.

So, you may wonder, what is on my mental shopping list? Here are just a few of the indulgences I would make if I was to have a lucky landfall.

Dresses, dresses, dresses.

Designer of course! I love these designs by Max Mara, Diane Von Furstenburg and a couple of Celebrity looks from Self Portrait. And, because this is a wishlist based in fantasy, I can get Mrs Beckham to run me up one of her fabulous dresses in  (perish the thought!) a size 16.

A bit of sparkle

A lottery winner needs a bit of bling, but I have to say I prefer costume jewellery rather than the real thing. Still, with a big win, you can buy an awful lot of sparkly stuff.

What would you buy if you won the lottery – would you be frugal and careful, or lavish and extravagant?
