A glittering event at Swarovski Crystallized.

The Swarovski Crystalized flagship store, on Great Marlborough Street, London, was the scene of a fabulous, sparkly party last week. This event was held as part of the 30 days of Fashion and Beauty event. And Fashion-Mommy was on hand to bring you all the gossip and pictures.

The store, for those who have never visited, is a bright and shiny palace in which to worship the beautiful Swarovski jewels. On two levels, the top floor contains a chic bar and seating area, complete with the most gorgeous silver seating I have ever seen. Each  specially invited guest was given tickets for drinks, this being sparkling Prosecco complete with raspberries and blueberries. A DJ was playing a storming set, which helped set the scene for a glamorous and fun party evening.

There was so much to do during the party. The store is filled with the most beautiful jewels that suit all tastes. I was attending with Dawn, my best friend and also a bride-to-be who  had totally fallen in love with the new Karen Millen range, which would be absolutely perfect for her upcoming nuptials. The lovely staff were very helpful in helping her to track down the earrings in question.

Bride to be Dawn on those fab seats!

I’m a magpie who has a natural attraction to sparkling things, so I was totally in my element amongst all  the glitz. With the added incentive of 15% off all purchases, and wonderful goody bags containing a Swarovski t-shirt and Benefit Cosmetic goodies, it was hard to resist spoiling yourself with a glorious piece of jewellery. I opted for the goldtone Baroque necklace, which is Oh so Pretty!

There was also fun to be had in trying on the fabulous jewellery and then playing Cover Girl on a photo-shoot set. You could choose from some of the newest pieces of Swarovski Crystallized, and then pose for your own publicity shot. Unfortunately, we didn’t take it all that seriously, as you can see from our shot below!

It was a fabulous evening that was glittering and shiny, a little bit like the crystals themselves!

Will Pippa´s modelling dress make the next big sale?

It seems that Kate and Pippa have more things in common than a love of LK Bennett shoes. Just weeks after Kate´s see through dress designed by Charlotte Todd was sold at auction for a staggering amount (well, it was the dress that won a Prince…), it seems that Pippa´s fashion show blue dress may be the next big Kerry Taylor Auction frock!

The blue halter neck dress was worn by Pippa in a fashion show at Edinburgh University in 2004, and was bought after the show by Vanessa Morgan, a design and PR Manager for Atelier Swarovski for 190 pounds. The dress had been made by designer Rowan McIntosh for the Godiva Boutique in the Grassmarket. Vanessa loved the dress and wore it on many occasions, including family weddings. She says she didn´t know that Pippa had worn the dress until she was contacted by the designer Rowan.

Now Vanessa is trying to decide the best way to sell the dress, which has graced a whole raft of newspaper and magazine front pages in the wake in interest of all things Pippa related. It has been estimated that the dress could sell from anywhere between 5-10 thousand pounds at auction, although this could be a conservative low estimate.
