THE COMPLETE SKINCARE GUIDE FOR MEN

Men are different from women and so are their skins. The way men take care of their skins is a bit different from women’s. Men have more rugged skins than women and have the good fortune of naturally low maintenance skins. Though this is the case, it is still advisable that men still take care of their skins because even their skins are not immune to pimples, acne, and spots.

Since the skincare regime is different from women, what’s the best regime for men? We have a complete list of basic skin care that you need for your skin.

Skincare regime for men is easy and very straightforward. There are no five-step regimes or multiple face masks and creams. You just need to find good products that suit your skin. Natural products made from plant extracts with minimum chemicals are always the best.

For a better-looking complexion do these things daily.

  1.      Cleanse

The basic purpose of cleansing is to get the gunk off your face and prevent it from getting into your pores. We suggest you wash your face with warm water to open your pores. Go a step further and take a shower in warm water instead. This ensures that your pores open up and the dust and grime come out easily.

Next, apply a small amount of face wash to your face. Do not slather on your face wash. More foam does not mean that your face will get cleaner. Never use soap on your skin because soap contains harsh chemicals that are definitely not suited for the skin on your face.  According to Dr. Bill Andrews from Siorai, men should take care of their skin by cleansing it with face wash and warm water every morning and night, as well as after working out.

The correct way to spread the face wash on your face is to lightly rub your face in circular motion. Do this for at least 30 seconds. This is will generate a good amount of foam and also massage your skin for better circulation. Don’t be too rough and pull too much. You don’t want wrinkles making their way on your face any earlier than they should.

Now rinse your face with cool water. This will close your pores. Dirt, grime, and oil can not make their way into your pores anymore.

Take a soft towel and pat your face dry. Never rub vigorously because this may result in an early onset of wrinkles.

Don’t wash your face for more than twice a day. It will just cause unnecessary dryness and exacerbate fine lines and wrinkles.

Another tip for good skin is to use men’s face scrub. Use a facial scrub about twice a week. It is not recommended that you use a scrub more than that because it can cause your skin to dry.

  1. Moisturize

Use a men’s face moisturizer to moisturize your face after cleansing. Take a dime sized amount and apply it to your entire face. Rub it in a circular motion to keep your skin hydrated for longer. Hydrated skin is less prone to the telltale signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles. It also prevents the sebaceous glands from over-working.

If you notice fine lines and wrinkles around your eyes, forehead, and mouth, don’t worry. Use a good anti-aging cream. Apply small quantities to the problem area and dab it gently. An even better solution is to invest in a good eye cream for men. It will smoothen the wrinkles around the eyes along with bags.

Never forget a good sunscreen when you’re out in the sun for long. Not only women but also men’s skins are susceptible to the harmful rays of the sun. If you’re going to stay in the sun for more than 30 minutes, apply a sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher and protect your skin from sun damage.

If you want to go one step further take care of your body too. Invest in body washes rather than soaps. Soaps dry out the skin and if you already have dry skin then soaps are definitely not for you. Also, buy a good hand cream and body moisturizer to keep your skin feeling fresh and hydrated.

We know that skincare is tedious, but at least you have it easier than women. Women have rigorous skin care regimes which take at least an hour at one sitting. You can just do yours any time you want. It hardly takes a few minutes. We suggest that you always carry your sunscreen, face wash, and moisturizer wherever you go for the best results.
