Out of all the press days I attend, the Debenhams Press event is always one of my absolute faves, and one I try hard not to miss. It is always a glamorous occasion, held in a sumptuous, beautiful venue, and the clothes on display are full of pieces that you instantly fall in love with. With some of these pieces due to start hitting the stores and online very soon, now is the perfect time to look ahead to what we will be wearing this Autumn/Winter.
The influences are a really mixed bag from the Designers at Debenhams. There are 1950s full midi length skirts and dresses with beautiful brocade prints and patterns. the 1970s is well represented by a hexagonal lurex style maxi dress that I believe was from the Ben De Lisi range for Principles. An exquisite green beaded dress was clearly influenced by flapper style from the 1920s, whilst I loved the beaded evening gowns that resembled something grabbed directly from the red carpet.
At the other end of the spectrum from glamorous beaded gowns, there was an explosion of pink in the form of some very lovely Winter coats, including a fun fluffy pale pink design. And I totally adored the orange wool coat that was worn draped over a mannish suit and a Breton t-shirt. This look was very stylish, very French, Very Ines De La Fressange, and I just loved it.
