Treating your mom with Bonmarche

I was recently approached to see if I would be interested in a blogger project with a difference. I often take part in style challenges, and have also had the opportunity to review products for both the hubby and my little boy Joe, but this one was all about treating the extra special lady in my life, my lovely mom Diane.

Bonmarche is a brand that seems to go from strength to strength, with recent collections from David Emanuel and Ann Harvey both adding a cachet of designer glamour to the usual, every day wear. My mom is a huge fan of Bonmarche, there is a rather large branch of the store in West Bromwich quite close to where she lives, and the David Emanuel collection in particular, is a real favourite. So when I was asked to choose something that my mom would love, in order to style her for my blog, the real difficulty was in choosing just one thing!

The textured yarn cardigan with the metallic trim was an obvious choice for my mom. Like me, my mom has a little magpie streak going through her that makes anything glittery immediately attractive, and this cardigan has a lovely golden thread running through it that makes it shine with movement, and when it catches the light. The hook and eye neck fastening gives this a jacket effect, so it is a great evening cover-up for a little black dress. But this is a really versatile item that would also be great to dress up jeans or black peg trousers, and I think it is a piece that you will literally live in over the festive period. A total winner.

My mom had a special night at the theatre planned, so we decided to use the cardigan rather than a jacket over a little black dress. With all the other parts of the outfit in black, the jacket added a contrast of colour and sparkle that kept the outfit looking classic and elegant.

An elegant black dress looked just lovely with the cardigan. Add in a black patent court shoe in a classic style (this pair by Perlato are very similar) and a clutch bag with some gold studs that draw out the gold thread of the cardigan, and you have one fantastic outfit.

I think my mom looks fabulous!
