Destination Christmas has arrived at Selfridges
When do you officially start your countdown to Christmas? Is it when you first realise that every advert on TV is for some sort of toy? Is it when you see the giant tins of Quality street have arrived in your local supermarket? Maybe your countdown doesn’t begin until the first Christmas lights switch on, or until you see the John Lewis advert, or maybe you are far more traditional, and start your countdown when you open that first window on your advent calendar.
For me, the Christmas countdown starts when Selfridges open Destination Christmas, opening the curtains on their wonderful festive windows, and introduce the ‘elfridges’ who are there to shop your every yuletide need. This year, the windows are a twist on the traditional fairy tales, and I will popping to London very soon to get a look at close quarters.

I love that Selfridges always has an unusual selection of Christmas decorations that range from the very traditional to the ultra-modern, and from the very beautiful to the cute and funny. The latest collection is full of gorgeous pieces that you can put on your tree this year, and then enjoy for years to come. I like to add a few new decorations to my tree each year, even more so now Joe is old enough to help decorate it, and so I will be making a trip to Selfridges soon so we can both pick a new bauble (I have a feeling Joe will choose the glass truck bauble, or the London Eye Snowglobe). I have my eye on the super cute resin boots which look a lot like the Uggs that come out every time the weather turns cold.
Here are my favourite picks from a really lovely selection.

The unicorn tree decoration is so cute! There isn’t one thing that makes it feel Christmassy for me, although the Christmas German market always helps!
