Wallis bring the glitz to knits

There has been a lot of talk about knitwear on the blog this month, the sudden drop in temperature and the realisation that Winter is just around the corner has made me quite conscious of the need to wrap up, plus there has been the focus on jumpers of the Christmas variety (you can find that post here if you haven’t yet seen it.) But jumpers are not just something to wear when it gets cold, they can also be a really glamorous evening option too. Just ask the people at Wallis.

Wallis have taken knitwear in an elegant, evening direction. Using embellishments, glitter thread and fluffy wool, Wallis have used stream-lined designs that could be worn with skinny jeans or peg style trousers for a warm, but also utterly fabulous look.

I was asked if I would like to choose some pieces from Wallis to review from the Winter Collection, and one of the pieces I opted for was knitwear. The Navy blue fluffy jumper was one of the pieces I’d seen modeled by Laura Bailey, and I’d instantly fallen in love with the deep colour and the simple, yet classic shape.

This jumper is simply gorgeous. It is unbelievably soft, but, unlike other fluffy jumpers, it doesn’t shed or leave bits of fluff all over your other clothing. The v neck and 3/4 sleeves make this perfect for wearing by itself, or for layering over a top or shirt for a work-wear look. The colour is a deep, vivid blue, but with little bits of silver thread giving just a hint of sparkle – so good with the festive season on its way. It also contains a little stretch – again, always a bonus with Christmas indulgences on every corner.

I styled this jumper for a bonfire night outing, with coloured jeans, leather boots and a t-shirt with a Peter Pan style collar underneath.  I loved this look which I think was warm and cosy, but also neat enough to take you from the bonfire to the pub. A word of warning though, people will try to stroke you when you are wearing this jumper, it is just so tactile!
