BAFTA 2017 – Fave Looks
The most important night in British film is always a good place to look when it comes to glamorous Hollywood Stars and the best of British truly shining on the red carpet. I am talking about the Bafta’s of course, aka the British Academy Awards, and this year has proved to be a bit of a vintage one in terms of fashion, with some really lovely looks including a suitably regal one from the Duchess of Cambridge in Alexander McQueen. This years awards showcased a range of beautiful looks in a range of colours and styles. There were strapless styles, halter necks as showcased by Nicole Kidman in Armani Prive…

Reviewed – Caviar Treatments from Skin Chemists
“My father was a Chemist and member of the Pharmacology Society of Great Britain graduating in 1958. In the 1990’s while I was working with him making a new formulation, we were talking about what makes a great formulation. January Outfit Post – Part 2
As promised, here is part two of my outfit post for January. This one features some of the sale bargains I found this month, including the final pieces which cost a grand total of £16 from Topshop. I’ve already worn the jumper on a couple of occasions, and I know the skirt will be a wardrobe favourite as I have it in a couple of different colours and basically wear them to death. I’m thinking of teaming it with a black jumper for the rest of the Winter, and then a cream cami and strappy sandals once Summer comes. The best sort of wardrobe buys are ones which are versatile…

The Red Shoes – A new classic from Matthew Bourne
A new classic ballet came to life last night, as Matthew Bourne’s version of Powell and Pressburger’s ‘The Red Shoes’ came vividly to life on the stage of the Birmingham Hippodrome. The beautiful haunting story of dancer Victoria Page, and how she is destroyed by her talent and love, is one of the great movies, and now, in the hands of a superb company, the tale that started life as a rather brutal fairy story is recreated for the stage, and shows once again why Matthew Bourne is rightly recognised as a genius of modern dance. The Red Shoes is a story of love, jealousy, obsession and determination. Aristocratic Victoria…

Wonderland – A very grown up fairy story opens at the New Alex
Wonderland, the multi Grammy and Tony Award nominated musical, opened at the New Alex Theatre last night. The updated story of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass transports Alice to modern times, she is no longer a curious girl, but a middle aged mom who refuses to face up to real life. We follow Alice on an adventure in Wonderland which is as mystical, whimsical and magical as Lewis Carroll told us, and in the hands of a superb cast, it is a total triumph. We meet Alice at a low point in her life. Out of work, getting divorced and living in a tower block where the…
