Reviewed – Izza Pizza In Selfridges Birmingham
The best pizza I ever had was in Sardinia. A small, unassuming looking pizzeria created pizzas to order, which were then eaten in the square in the Old Town in Alghero, overlooking the harbour with the sun shining. The locals all flocked there (always a good sign) and the square was filled with extended families all enjoying the early evening sunshine and the delicious sourdough pizzas, stone baked in traditional ovens. I remembered those delicious pizzas well on Sunday, when I went along to Izza Pizza, the newest food outlet in Selfridges in Birmingham, and part of the Lasan Group who are dedicated to creating good food in many…

August Outfit Post
It has to be said that I love August. Getting to have some quality time with my little boy is always a pleasure, plus it is also the month of my wedding anniversary, and we spend at least one week in Wales enjoying Summer. So whilst, in weather terms, it was far from a scorcher, there were still lots of opportunities to have a lot of family fun, and, with a few events thrown into the mix, it is a month that I’m already missing, especially as Autumn has arrived with cold, winds and lots of rain. In terms of fashion, there were a few new additions to my wardrobe,…

Fashion Icons Who Support Sustainable Style
With London Fashion Week in full flow, it is sometimes hard to believe that an industry that is perceived to be shallow and vanity based can also be doing something good for the planet. But the 21st Century has seen the rise of recycling, re-using and sustainability when it comes to all areas of our shopping lives, and that includes fashion. We re-use out plastic carrier bags, or better style buy an eco bag, we look for organic cottons and fabrics, and there has been a push to buy British to reduce our carbon footprint. Even the most stylish of fashion parties can now be environmentally friendly, with companies like…

Gudrun Sjoden Belem Dress
I will never stop being a fan of the wonderful Gudrun Sjoden. Whilst the rest of the High Street is embracing minimalism and neutrals, Gudrun takes one look and says ‘no, not for me’ and instead treats us to a riot of pattern and colour, in high quality organic cottons that allow us to stretch, move and breathe. A fashion maverick in the vein of Westwood, Betsey Johnson and Pam Hogg, Gudrun’s slice of Scandinavian style is one to love and embrace. I’ve been a fan of Gudrun since I discovered the brand at a Varg press day a fair few years ago, and each season I add a few…

Son Of A Preacher Man At The New Alex Theatre
The wondrous, timeless music of Dusty Springfield filled the New Alex Theatre last night with the opening of the crowd pleasing musical ‘Son of a Preacher Man’, a jukebox musical telling a story of unrequited love using the classic hits of the great lady. And while ‘Son of a Preacher Man’ is no classic, it’s talented cast and those wonderful songs make it a good solid night of entertainment. The story revolves around three lonely people who are all suffering from loss and have been unlucky in love. Paul (Michael Howe) is still yearning for Jack, a man he met at the Preacher Man record shop in the 1960s, but…
