Dot Cake From Beanies Coffee
2026 has been the year of the dot cake trend. For those who escaped it and are currently scratching their head, this is a single serving cake that comes in a teacup, topped with a layer of icing and with end to end sprinkles of hundreds and thousands. Dot cakes are like a cross between old fashioned school cakes, and cupcakes, and they look super cute and pretty, almost too good to eat. Now, Beanies Coffee have taken the trend and turned it into their newest, limited edition drink, and, I have to say, it is absolutely delicious.
Beanies coffee are one of my favourite instant coffee brands. They give coffee lovers the opportunity to try a range of flavours without needing to go through all the hassle of using a coffee machine. Dot Cake is their latest limited edition, a gorgeous black coffee which balances a strong coffee taste with the sweetness of cake, with elements of strawberry and vanilla. It is sweet, but not too sweet, with the coffee cutting through this to avoid it being sickly.
Flavour
As I mentioned in the previous paragraph, this definitely tastes very cakey. It has a sweet pleasant flavour that works so well with the freeze dried coffee. You only need a level spoonful to make your drink, and it doesn’t need milk, so great if you are lactose intolerant as it is totally diary free. It is also, unlike most actual cakes, gluten free and also nut free.
One of the great things about Beanies coffees are that they are sugar free, and very low calorie. Dot cake is around 3/4 calories per cup, which makes it a guilt free treat, as well as also being something that I, as a diabetic, can enjoy. I actually love this as an elevenses treat, perfect teamed with an actual cake, or just on its own if you are already sweet enough.
Beanies Coffee have created their own recipe for Dot Cake cupcakes which use the coffee and sound absolutely delicious. You can find the recipe here.
