Blouses For Autumn With Very
Once a much maligned, and neglected part of the wardrobe, the reserve of those who wear a skirt suit to work, or of nan’s partial to a pussy bow neckline, the blouse has now become an essential part of our wardrobe. It is easy to see why – it is a stylish, glamorous, and versatile option that can be worn in a range of ways, and for a range of occasions. Smarter than a jumper or t-shirt, a blouse can be dressed up or dressed down, worn with heels or trainers, can be kept simple and elegant, or emblazoned with a print or pattern. The key thing is, blouses always work.
Whether your choice is a blouse or a shirt, Very has a wide range of styles this Autumn that can suit every taste. There are styles that would work more casually for the school run teamed with boyfriend jeans, and more fitted looks that would be suitable for workwear, and could then be teamed with heels for after work drinks. Blouses are also perfect for the very 21st century phenomenom of the zoom call, or the conference call, allowing you to look all business up top, even if you are wearing your joggers on your bottom half.
I’ve picked out a couple of blouses that are going to be my Autumn saviours, items that I will wear over and over again throughout the season.
Blouse 1 SosandarDogtooth Print Shirt
Monochrome always makes a stylish look, and the classic dogtooth print is one that works so well when teamed with peg trousers or ultra skinny jeans. The SosandarDogtooth Print Shirt is a semi sheer design that comes with its own camisole to avoid showing too much skin, making this a great choice for work, parents evenings and other semi formal occasions.

The blouse has a slightly oversized feel which means it could be teamed with leggings too, but I prefer to wear it tucked in for a slightly smarter look. I kept this as a striking monochrome pallet, but you could add a splash of colour in the form of a coloured bag or pair of shoes.

As this is an oversized design, it could easily be worn open over the camisole for a different look, or could be worn over a different coloured cami, or even over a dress, making it a versatile piece that works for its living and earns its keep in your wardrobe. In Winter, the dogtooth would look fabulous layered over a polo neck, or work underneath a crew neck jumper.
Look 2 – MonsoonTilda Sustainable Satin Blouse
Sustainability is always a plus point when it comes to choosing fashion items, and the Tilda blouse from Monsoon shows that beautiful clothes don’t have to cost the Earth. Made from 65% recycled polyester, this satin blouse is a real statement piece, with a slight touch of Victoriana with its high neck and beautifully cuffed sleeves.

The blouse has a glamorous satin feel, and can be worn buttoned right up to the neck for that Victorian vintage look, or with a couple of buttons left open for a more relaxed feel. It is in a vibrant shade of green, making it a real statement piece, so you can tone this down by keeping your accessories and other items of clothing plainer in design.

I love this blouse, it is so easy to wear, and yet works for so many occasions. I wore it simply with Very skinny jeans, but would also love this teamed with a black pencil skirt, or a leather skirt, and heels for a night out.
