Glamour at the Baftas from House of Fraser

Last night saw the television Baftas taking place, with the stars of the small screen walking the red carpet. Sheridan Smith, Lucy Mecklenburgh, Millie Mackintosh, Michelle Keegan and Denise Van Outen were amongst the lovely ladies who got their best frocks on for a night of television celebration. If I’m being honest, it was far from a vintage night for style or fashion. Many of the lovely ladies had decided to go for the Met Gala flash as much flesh as possible route with dresses that offered sheer panels, strategically placed lace and not a lot else. I might be on my own saying this, but I am so bored…

Ahead of The Baftas – A focus on men’s tailoring

Sunday night we see the glossiest, most glamorous night of the year in television. Yes, it is the Bafta television awards, and this year the ceremony has been sponsored by House of Fraser. In honour of the ceremony, this post is dedicated to some of the best in red carpet dressing, with a focus on some of the best looks in menswear. It is hard for men to shine on the red carpet when we are faced with a series of show stopping looks from the ladies. But it has to be said, a sharp suit or tuxedo can make a real impact, especially when worn by a celebrity better known…

BAFTA 2015 – The Best Looks

Last night was the most glittering occasion on the British movie calender, when Stephen Fry yet again took to the podium to present the BAFTA awards. In recent years the glitter has become even starrier, as more and more American and International stars make their way to London in what is seen to be a good pointer for the Academy Awards. Last night we had American Royalty walking the red carpet, with Julianne Moore, Amy Adams, Reese Witherspoon and Ethan Hawke all making an appearance. European stars Lea Seydoux, Naomi Rapace and Monica Belluci also made the trip to London, with Lea my absolute first choice for best dressed, in…

    The 2014 BAFTA’s – Key Looks

The days when the BAFTA’s were an also-ran awards ceremony have long since gone. These days the stars turn out in force for the British Academy awards ceremony, and this means a feast for the fashion lovers eye. This year saw a Hollywood who’s who roll call walking the red carpet. Brad and Angelina, Cate Blanchett, Amy Adams, Leonardo Di Caprio, Lupita Nyong’o, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Uma Thurman and Maggie Gyllenhall all turned out to add a glittering presence. Add in British stars like Naomie Harris, Samantha Barks and Helen Mirren, and the night was guaranteed to have sartorial looks on display that would have set tongues wagging.…

    The Emmys Good looks/bad looks

Last night was the most important night in television for Americans. It was the star studded Emmy awards. I stayed up into the early hours discussing the key looks with some of my favourite twitter ladies, Natalie from Fashion Blags  and LuAnne from Weesha’s World and really enjoyed the red carpet event, which was pretty stylish in all honesty. The Emmys are not like the BAFTAS.  At the BAFTAS, despite the thespian luvvies who make up most of the audience, you can still rely on a reality television star to wear something totally inappropriate, or just plain wrong. And, if that doesn’t happen, you always have the ever wacky Helen…
