Competition Time with Fashion-Mommy and Phase Eight
This month sees Fashion-Mommy celebrating its third birthday. The blog I started as a hobby to help me get through some tough times is still here and fighting fit. And, in celebration of this fact, the month of August is going to be very busy on the site, filled with news, product reviews and competitions from some of my favourite brands. We’re starting off with one of my favourite brands, Phase Eight. Phase Eight are the must visit destination for Hollywood style glamour. It is a brand that creates the ultimate in ‘dressy’ dresses, the sort of gowns that are perfect for all manner of special occasions. From weddings to…

TV Bafta’s – A host of Beautiful looks
The stars of the small screen were out in force last night for the Television BAFTA awards, the most prestigious awards in British TV. From Sienna Miller to the cast of Made in Chelsea, it seemed like everyone was there, scrubbed up and wearing Sunday best. This year there were some really lovely looks on display, with a host of designers from Matthew Williamson to Valentino represented on the red carpet. I struggled to come up with my favourite looks, as there were actually quite a few to choose from. Lucy Watson from Made in Chelsea, Zoe Hardman and Helen McCrory all looked beautiful on the Red Carpet, in looks…

BAFTA Style red carpet fashion from House of Fraser
The television Bafta’s are this year teamed with House of Fraser as an official style partner, and in honour of this, I thought that it would be a good idea to show you some of the amazing red carpet styles that the department store currently has on offer. House of Fraser is always a great port of call for occasion dressing, with brands such as Biba, Untold and Ariella all showing that you can create looks suited to Hollywood events with a more modest budget. In addition to the fabulous gowns, which offer colour, beading, a range of silhouettes, and retro and icon influences, House of Fraser are also offering…

BAFTAS – My Best Dressed
I have to say that this years BAFTA awards was one of the most enjoyable in years. Stephen Fry was on great form presenting, and the Hollywood contigent was almost in full attendance, making this a super glamorous and starry eyed occasion. It was also one of the best dressed award evenings I have ever watched, with just so many fantastic looks, ranging from super elegant to super sexy. I’ve decided to focus on my favourite dresses from this years ceremony, so there are no places for Anne Hathaway (fine, but a tad dull in Burberry), Andrea Riseborough and Marion Cotillard (who wore the same, gorgeous shade of yellow in…

Gorgeous Looks from the Evening Standard Awards
The Evening Standard awards are, in general, a far more low-key affair in British film than the Baftas, which are due to take place this sunday, but they still throw up some good looks, and, in Andrea Riseborough’s Jenny Packham, a dress that could rival anything that Hollywood has to offer. Also attending the ceremony was Helen McCrory, that wonderful actress so often in the shade of hubby Damian Lewis. I loved her maxi skirt and black silk blouse. This was just such a grown up look, a touch 1930s, and so striking, teamed with a very glam Kate Spade clutch bag. Hayley Atwell went for a brightly printed burnt…
