Gourmet Burger Kitchen Grill Warming
Last night, my family and I were very lucky to attend the grill warming at Gourmet Burger Kitchen in The Mailbox, Birmingham. The restaurant had been closed for a period of time for a £350,000 exterior and interior refurbishment, and opens officially today (Friday 13th March). The Grill Warming was an opportunity to check out the new improvements in decor, whilst trying out the delicious menu. I have to say, we had a fantastic time. The restaurant was buzzing with atmosphere, with the new decor featuring dark wood paneling and gorgeous antique effect lighting giving the whole place a retro feel that was warm and inviting. I loved the monkey…

Jeeves and Wooster – Supreme Lunacy rules at the Birmingham Rep
It is farce, it is slapstick, and it is absolutely the most fun you will have this month. I’m talking about ‘Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense’, which opened at the Birmingham Rep last night. Starring Robert Webb as the eponymous upper class bumbler Bertie Wooster, Jason Thorpe as the sensible, clever manservant Jeeves, and Christopher Ryan as the old retainer Seppings, ‘Perfect Nonsense is a play within a play, the likes of which you won’t see anywhere else this year. It is sheer lunacy, and your funny bones may take some time to recover. The story, starts with Bertie introducing the events surrounding the solid silver cow creamer that…

Everyman Cinema opens in The Mailbox
Everyman Cinema’s offer something a little different to the average cinematic experience. Rather than the usual, flip down seating with very little leg room, the Everyman cinemas offer luxurious, sofa style seating with plenty of leg room, mini tables for your drinks, and even footrests. It’s like watching movies from the comfort of your own front room, except you are watching the latest films in perfect definition on a huge screen. I love the fact that we now have an Everyman Cinema in Birmingham’s Mailbox, and on Wednesday I was lucky enough to be invited to try out the Everyman Experience with an advanced screening of ‘Still Alice’. The Mailbox…

How to make your make-up last all day – Urban Decay masterclass
Kirsty Lo is a Birmingham celebrity. She’s a beauty expert and make-up artist, a presenter and model, and all round lovely lady into the bargain. Her beauty masterclasses are not to be missed, with her latest being a lesson in the products and techniques from Urban Decay that will allow your make -up to last all day. As a busy mother, who doesn’t have that long to apply my make-up in the first place, let alone have time to re-apply, this was certainly a lesson I was in need of. So I took a trip to Selfridges in Birmingham last Friday to take a closer look. Urban Decay is well…

The Sainsbury’s Indoor Grand Prix – Just record breaking!
Saturday 21st February 2015 will be a date that will forever be embedded in my memory. It is the day I attended my first, proper athletics event, the Sainsbury’s Indoor GP at Birmingham’s Barclaycard Arena. It was a day I enjoyed wonderful hospitality whilst marveling at the pace and prowess of the likes of Kim Collins, Greg Rutherford and Nigel Levine. And it is the day I cheered, shook and literally screamed myself hoarse as the legendary Mo Farah broke the world record in the men’s 2 mile race. It was an unbelievable day. Joe has been interested in Athletics since the Olympics in 2012. He became fairly obsessed with…
