It’s the weekend – so what to do?
I love that Friday feeling when you know the weekend is finally here. Even though I work from home, I take time off at the weekend to get out and about and to enjoy quality family time with my little boy and hubby. Sometimes (if we’re very lucky) this can involve ‘date night’, at other times we can have a special activity or event planned that we are all involved in. If you’re still deciding what to do with your weekend, here are a few things you could be doing – and none of them involve shopping!
If you have no children
LFW
It’s London Fashion Week and the fun starts today. Even if you are not accredited, you can certainly have fun soaking up the atmosphere, spotting the celebrities and checking out the strangely dressed fashionista’s as they trek from show to show. As someone who went to London Fashion Week a few years ago I would say this is definitely something to experience at least once. But pack sensible shoes and an umbrella, it involves a lot of walking and plenty of queues.
Try to bag yourself a little windfall
If you enjoy a game of numbers, and fancy your chances at earning a little windfall, then a game of Bingo could well be a way to while away a few hours this weekend. There are Bingo Halls all over the UK, with most serving food and drinks, and this could be a fun alternative to a night in the pub with the girls.
Check out a new restaurant
It’s always lovely to try out a new food place. This week saw the opening of the latest Marco’s New York Italian, this time in Leicester at the Mecure Leicester Grand Hotel. This is a great place to combine a lovely overnight hotel stay with a diverse Italian/American menu.
And for the family
Sporting Action from the Sainsbury’s Indoor Grand Prix
The Sainsbury’s Indoor Grand Prix returns to Birmingham’s Barclaycard Arena this Saturday, with top British Athletes Mo Farah and Katarina Johnson Thompson amongst those appearing, and the fastest man in the world in this year, Kim Collins, also competing. This is a great, family friendly event that takes place in the afternoon – it’s where I’m spending my Saturday!
How will you be spending your weekend?

I do not know if I can manage the LFW craziness lol London on any given day is busy I can only imagine it now. I think visiting that Marco restaurant might be a better option for me. Thanks for these suggestions

Some great ideas for things to do this weekend. I would love to go to LFW one year as I’ve never been before.
