The Sunday Brunch at Birmingham’s swish Malmaison may well be one of the city’s best kept gastronomic secrets but this will not be the case for long. It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and I can now say I am really, really excited that Christmas Day is so close. 2013 has been a fantastic year for Fashion-Mommy, but I am now getting ready to spend some quality time with those I love the most. Loving the Christmas Markets!
Last weekend I made the most of the mild weather by visiting not one, but two Christmas Markets. Trip one took in the Lincoln Christmas market, set in and around the beautiful surroundings of Lincoln Castle. I try to go to Lincoln each Christmas, loving the chance to drink mulled wine whilst browsing all the stalls. I particularly like the leather and sheepskin stalls which have a great mixture of bargain buys and more luxurious items. Lincoln City is also a great place to shop, with some brilliant vintage stores, charity shops with hidden treasures, and small independents that are perfect when you are looking for something a little bit…

The Great Western Arcade is one of Birmingham’s gems. A beautiful Victorian shopping arcade, Great Western houses some of the best independent stores in the City. Last week it was host to a special Christmas shopping evening, which saw the Arcade become alive with the sound of a festive choir, and treated customers to special discounts and late night openings at all stores. Selfridges Birmingham to welcome new ‘fashionably British’ brasserie ‘The Balcony’
The opening of a stylish new eaterie is always something to get excited about, and this Saturday (23rd November) will see the launch of ‘The Balcony’ in Birmingham’s Iconic Selfridges. The Balcony is a new bar and brasserie that promises a gourmet treat in one of the 2nd cities most eye-catching locations.
