Ghost floats into the New Alexandra Theatre
Do a quick straw poll to find the most heartbreaking, most romantic film of all time, and the chances are Ghost will be mentioned. The supernatural romance tugged a million heartstrings, tempted women everywhere to cut their hair a la the achingly gorgeous Demi Moore, and reinforced the fact that Patrick Swayze was the heart-throb of his generation. It also spawned a rather fantastic musical directed by the Tony award winning Matthew Warchus, with music and lyrics by Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics and Glen Ballard. This December, just in time for Christmas, Ghost The Musical will arrive in Birmingham, at the New Alexandra Theatre, promising to be a wonderful…

Theatre tickets – A great Christmas Gift idea
I don’t mind admitting I am a bit of a theatre buff. I love nights spent at the Birmingham Hippodrome, watching the Birmingham Royal ballet perform, and also enjoy musicals and all manner of plays, from drama’s to comedies. I have a hitlist of things that I want to see at the theatre, with Wicked Musical tickets currently at the top of my wishlist for 2014. Theatre tickets and vouchers are a great idea for a special Christmas gift for a loved one, and I have detailed some of the hot tickets for 2014 below. Disney Dare to Dream charms at The NIA
The latest Disney on Ice show hit Birmingham last week, with a special VIP performance at the NIA. Disney’s Dare to Dream is a celebration of the most magical of Disney characters, the Fairytale princesses, with particular emphasis on four of those lovely ladies. A show full of sparkle and magic, ‘Dare to Dream’ charmed even those hardest of hearts with glitter, romance and utterly enchanting ice dance. Before the show Joe and my niece Lia were thrilled to meet the very beautiful Tiana from The Princess and the Frog. Her exquisite gown was a lovely taster of what was to come, with fabulous attention to detail measuring the Disney…

An evening talking hair with Nicky Clarke
A few weeks ago, before all the excitement and the frenetic madness that was Style Birmingham Live, I attended another event that could only be classed as amazing. Hair maestro and all-round legend Nicky Clarke hosted an evening to celebrate the opening of his new salon in Birmingham’s Mailbox, and I was very lucky to receive an invite to the event. The new salon is a classy, glamorous affair, with lots of space to ensure you avoid the sometimes cramped, claustrophobic confines that can be a problem in small, hot salons. I particularly loved the wall which is filled with glossy magazine covers that Nicky styled the hair for, a…

Style Birmingham Live – A huge Success
Last weekend saw what was, quite possibly, the greatest Style Birmingham Live ever. This really was an event that had it all. The weekend started with a bang with a champagne reception and hair treats from the Francesco Group. This was followed by an amazing spectacle of fashion from the cream of Birmingham retailers, from House of Fraser and the Bullring, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols, with good old M&S thrown in for good measure. The show was presented by Emma Willis and Rylan Clark, which was a totally genius pairing, they bantered so well and made the show warm and funny as well as a visual treat. With the added…
