Yondi Pillows for Big Kids
For many children, long car journeys are the perfect opportunity to have a nap. A mixture of tiredness, bored over endless traffic jams on the UKs motorways and sometimes the heat of the car make it very hard for kids to stay awake. Unfortunately, this can lead to situations of sore neck, with heads lolling to one side for want of something more comfortable than the average car back seat. So I personally think that the latest invention from Trunki, the Yondi Pillow for big kids, is a great, practical idea that may make journeys a more comfortable for little ones. The Yondi pillow is a soft neck pillow that…

Welcome to the World Charlotte Elizabeth Diana
I spent another bank holiday weekend in Wales, but I was so excited when I woke up on Saturday morning to find that Duchess Kate had had her baby, and that we now had a little princess. Today we found out that the baby had been called Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, and I don’t think I will be the only one really pleased that the baby’s name contains a tribute to her beautiful grandmother Princess Diana. Kate left hospital fairly quickly on Saturday and looked wonderful after giving birth just that morning. My hand luggage essentials
As we move into May, the realisation comes that it is getting very close to holiday time, and I start to think, once again, of what it is I’m going to be packing, both in the suitcase, and in my hand luggage. We are traveling with Jet 2, which means a decent amount of hand luggage (10 kilos), but the fact is that you are going to be carrying this bag around the airport so you don’t want to overload and do yourself a shoulder injury before you actually get there. Affordable family holiday site Icelolly.com have recently put together a blog with their hand luggage must haves, and although…

Spending a day at Warwick Castle
When I was a child, my favourite family day out was not at a theme park, or even at the seaside. I was a true history buff (still am) and my idea of half-term heaven was a day spent at the stunning Warwick Castle. This beautiful Medieval masterpiece is a magical place that brings historical events and characters to life in the confines of those thick castle walls. Last week I passed my love of this fabulous place to my six year old son, also turning out to be a bit of a history lover (thanks to a school project about the Staffordshire Hoard). Our first family visit was a…

Regatta has Spring downpours covered
I have a little boy. He’s a lovely 6 year old who has only one failing in my eyes, he quite literally wants to spend every minute of every day outside – whatever the weather. In Winter, I can often persuade him that maybe it is a little too cold to be outside for so long, but once Spring comes I have no chance of keeping him in – even if the rain decides to pay a visit. Fortunately, Regatta have created the perfect rain jacket that means he can play and still keep relatively dry. The Boys printed pack-it-in jacket is a cute little waterproof jacket that is a…
