New Yorker Beer Launch At Nosh And Quaff
I’ve been enjoying a late Summer break over the past week, making the most of the last of Summer in Wales, but, before I went away I enjoyed a lovely evening of food and drink at Nosh and Quaff in Birmingham. This was for the launch of New Yorker Beer, a lager that is currently being served exclusively in Birmingham at this venue. Although beer is not usually my tipple of choice, I have to say the launch was very enjoyable. Nosh and Quaff is a well known and much loved Birmingham City Centre eatery, with a catchphrase that reflects its most famous dish (lobster) encouraging its guests to ‘get…

The Canal House is launched in Birmingham
Last week saw the revitalising of a legendary Birmingham venue, when The Canal House launched in the old James Brindley pub. The James Brindley had been a Birmingham landmark in the 1990s, but had, in recent times become a bit of an eyesore on the skyline, lying empty for the past 8 years. Now, as The Canal House, it looks set to bring those glory days back, as it is once again a beautiful venue, with great food and cocktails. #wiwt #ootd💗 #latergram. For the launch if @thecanalhouseuk #thesecretsout #jamesbrindley Can’t believe I needed a coat in August! Got the trusty #burberry out. Skirt @tkmaxx top @dorothyperkins #1950sstyle fugly shoes…

Perfect Pizza at The Stable, Birmingham
There are some great places to find really good Pizza in Birmingham, but The Stable on John Bright Street must be one of the best. It has a menu that is full of delicious pizza combinations. and also has a range of over 80 ciders that you can team with them, making this perfect pitstop for a refuel on a shopping day. In addition, a great outside space is just glorious, especially when the mercury is hitting over 70 degrees, which it was on the Sunday we paid a family trip. With a relaxed atmosphere, and a child friendly menu and staff, you can easily enjoy fantastic food and a…

Check out the Birmingham Hollywood Bowl – Fun for all the family
On Sunday we went to check out one of the new Hollywood Bowl, based in Rubery, Birmingham. I often visit the Hollywood Bowl at Bentley Bridge in Wolverhampton, but the Rubery branch is bigger, better and far more glamorous, with an American style Diner, an adults only Snooker/pool area, and special VIP booths from where drinks and food can be ordered and served while you enjoy a game of bowling. We had the most wonderful time, proving that when the weather is dismal, bowling is good, clean fun for the whole family. The Hollywood Bowl, as the name would suggest, has an American Idols theme running throughout. The walls, both…

Lobby on Hill Street Taster Evening
Birmingham’s thriving food and cocktail scene continues to grow, and, this week will see the opening of The Lobby on Hill Street. Located under the City’s Holiday Inn, and withing a stones throw of Grand Central station, The Lobby on the Hill offers a mixture of vibrant street food dishes that are served tapas style, with an extensive range of cocktails that take you from the classic to the exotic and unusual. Last Thursday I went along to a preview taster evening, and, I have to say I’m really looking forward to getting back there for the official launch party this week. Guests were treated to a cocktail making class…
