Rudy’s Rare Records brings The Rep to its feet
A midweek standing ovation is a pretty rare thing, but that is what the hilarious ‘Rudy’s Rare Records’ got at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre last night. The superb comedy starring Lenny Henry had audiences on their feet with its mixture of warmth, laughter and Reggae, and is probably the only play I have ever seen where I have wished I had tickets for the following night. Moshi Monsters Weekend at The Sea Life Centre
One of my family’s favourite, all-weather attractions to visit in Birmingham is the National Sea Life Centre in Brindley Place. Home to all manner of deep-sea creatures, from Sharks to Stingrays, and all sorts of truly beautiful and unusual fish, the Sea Life Centre is the ideal place to add to your Summer Holiday must visit list, offering education and a whole lot of fun. An Afternoon Picnic at The Balcony, Selfridges
Ever since I attended the opening party of The Balcony restaurant in Selfridges, Birmingham, last December, I have been itching to try out the Afternoon Picnic. The restaurant, part of the Searcy’s group, had shown guests their take on a traditional afternoon tea, but due to consumer copious amounts of food and scrummy cocktails on the night, I had not been able to sample any of the delights on offer. Bandai Toys – More from the Power Rangers
Last year I wrote a review of some of the fab toys from the Power Rangers range that were enjoying a resurgence in popularity due to a new TV series. The review proved to be very popular and showed that since the 1990s, Power Rangers had never really disappeared from the hearts and minds of kids young, and not so young. The lovely people at Bandai have recently sent Joe some more of the range for review. Charlie and Lola’s Extremely New Play
Half term is a time for family fun, but with the weather being a bit unfavourable (great weather for ducks – ahem), the best entertainment and fun is to be found indoors, with a lovely afternoon in the Birmingham Repertory theatre offering excitement, enchantment and fun.
