Itihaas Brasserie at Selfridges, Birmingham
Itihaas Brasserie opened in 2012 within the Birmingham Selfridges Food Hall. It was a new concept offering Itihaas’s original renowned Indian cuisine (their main Birmingham restaurant has won the best restaurant award in the UK Cobra Good Curry Guide) and high standards, yet in a casual setting. The brasserie was an instant success, I ate there quite soon after the opening and loved the food and the buzzing atmosphere. Last weekend I decided it was high time for a revisit, and so I decided to lunch there whilst I was enjoying the Bullring’s Autumn Fashion Fix. Itihaas is located right in the heart of the ground floor of Selfridges Birminham.…

Birds Eye – Getting into the mealtime routine
The school holidays are an amazing , fun time, but they are also the time when all routines seem to fly out of the window. Children get up later, go to bed later, and seem to eat at different times, snacking in between meals on ice creams, crisps, biscuits and all manner of things. Our school holiday was full of chances to eat out, including a couple of weeks away on holiday. There were also picnics in the park to make the most of the lovely weather and late night snacks after full days out. Basically, the old mealtime routine was nowhere to be seen. But now school is back,…

Feasting at the Chef’s Table at Grill LaTour
An invitation to dine at the Chef’s table at one of my favourite Birmingham Hotels was the exciting proposition that dropped into my inbox a couple of weeks ago. Hotel LaTour has always offered fabulous fine dining in its Aalto restaurant, but the rebranding of the restaurant as Grill LaTour, with an emphasis on my very favourite food, succulent steak, was something for foodies(and me!) to get very excited about. A really good steak restaurant has to be one of my favourite places to eat, and when the restaurant is also offering fresh produce, including locally grown fruit and vegetables, I think you have a destination that will be hard…

A trip to Cadbury World
Cadbury World is undoubtedly one of the Midlands biggest tourist attractions, and one which each year seems to go from strength to strength. Truly an attraction that has something to interest all ages, this season there has been the added interest of the Cadbury World 4d chocolate adventure which was launched in June, as well as the welcome visit of Zippy and George from Rainbow. Last Sunday, my family went along to enjoy a chocolate filled day at Cadbury World, and, as I sit here enjoying a Dairy Milk, I thought I would share our thoughts with you. Entry to Cadbury world is by time slot tickets, this means that…

Fabulous Food from Bun and Bowl
For foodies, Birmingham is becoming a really good place to enjoy delicious food, with lots of new eateries popping up, offering a wide array of cuisines that suit all tastes. One of the most recent to open is Bun and Bowl, which is located in the Iconic building that is ‘The Cube’. Bun and Bowl was launched in May and is a deluxe burger and shrimp restaurant. I was invited to the opening, but due to family commitments I couldn’t make it, so when I was asked if I would like to sample the menu I was really excited. And so, last Friday night, I took the hubby along to…
