Caro Emerald – new style crush.
Strictly come Dancing isn’t usually the place to discover a new style crush, but that is exactly what happened on the Sunday night result show. Caro Emerald was the guest singer, and she was totally amazing. A bit of research told me that Caro is currently the biggest star in Dutch music, and is sure to be a sensation here very soon. A jazz singer who channels the spirit of Billie Holiday, I was totally enthralled by Caro’s voice, music, but, most of all, her unique retro styling. Caro has a stunning hourglass figure that she dresses to its best advantage by pouring it into outfits that reflect 50s styling. …

The Designer Vintage Wedding show returned to Birmingham in style
Last weekend saw the return of the most stylish wedding show on the Calendar. The Designer Vintage Wedding Show had a new home, Edgbaston County Cricket Ground, lots of new exhibitors and a whole host of stylish brides and guests who were totally wowed with the beautiful wedding goodies on display. Throw in a host of fabulous fashion shows organised by different eras, bridal make-up tips by the wonderful Emily Jayne, and a goodie bag that included Molton Brown goodies and cake pops by ‘We are Delish‘, and you have a wonderful event. Here are some of my highlights. Cherished Jewellery that carries ‘the patina of age’, Cherished is the…

Nancy Shevell – one stylish bride!
The most stylish women of the past week has to be the new Mrs Paul McCartney. Last Sunday Paul made the American heiress Nancy Shevell his third wife, and she looked absolutely amazing. Wearing a knee-length, 1940s inspired dress created by her new daughter-in-law Stella, Nancy showed off the sort of ageless glamour that so many of today’s starlets can only dream of. (Yes..I mean you, The Saturdays…) I tweeted about how fantastic I thought Nancy looked in that simple yet elegant dress, and was amazed at how many other people seemed to be of the same opinion. Words like timeless, chic and sophisticated were used, and everyone seemed incredulous…

Zara Taylor London – My picks.
I was recently invited to choose some pieces from the fabulous jewellery collection of Zara Taylor London. For those not familiar with the brand, Zara Taylor jewellery is full of beautiful, vintage inspired pieces that incorporate vintage beads and stones into new designs. Many are made using original tools to help replicate antique pieces from a bygone age. I love the designs, which just scream originality, and I’m in good company. Celebrity fans include Taylor Swift, Jessie J, and the girls from Made In Chelsea. When Kerry Katona entered the Big Brother House, she was wearing a Zara Taylor design. Here are the pieces I chose from the latest collection.…

Downton Abbey sparks new/old trends.
We all know that TV programmes can help to set trends. Mad Men, Sex and The City and Desperate Housewives have all helped to set trends and have made fashion stars out of Sarah Jessica Parker, Christina Hendricks and Marcia Cross. But the latest TV trendsetter may just raise a few highbrows, as well as lowering a few hemlines. For the latest show setting the fashion world alike is Downton Abbey. Yes, you heard correctly, the period drama Downton Abbey, currently stuck somewhere in World War One. Debenhams are just one of the stores who are feeling the Downton effect, with fashion fans eager to copy the style of Michelle…
