Charity Shop And Vintage Buys – July
In a post last month I talked about using charity shop finds to revitalise a holiday wardrobe without spending a heap of money on new outfits. I think the idea that you can look amazing on a budget, whilst helping to recycle clothes rather than adding to the landfill problems, whilst also contributing to good causes is a sound one, one that more people should be trying out.
Earlier this month I went on holiday, and, practising what I preached, much of my suitcase was filled with charity shop finds, probably totally less than £100. For me, charity shop finds mean that you are not wearing the same old High Street finds that everyone else is wearing. Don’t get me wrong, I love Primark as much as the next person, but when you look around the pool, you see an awful lot of Primark on display, so shopping in charity shops can help you to stand out from the crowd, especially if you have picked up something that is vintage, from a lesser known label, or is at least a few years old and ripe for reinvention.
So this month’s charity shop finds is dedicated to everything Summer, and Summer holidays, from the bag that will take you from the bar to the beach, via the airport, to your poolside cover ups, and pretty pieces you can wear once the sun has gone down.
Where possible I will give you the brand, the cost and the charity shop it was found in, and hopefully offer a little inspiration on the sorts of things you can add to your Summer wardrobe, and save some money that will add extra coffers to your spending money once you’re in resort.
