Charlotte Casiraghi Gets Married

You seem to wait for years for a Royal Wedding to come along, and then, like buses, they just keep on coming. Last weekend saw one of the most glamorous of European royals, Charlotte Casiraghi, get married to her beau, film producer Dimitri Rassam. Charlotte, the daughter of Princess Caroline and the granddaughter of the legendary Grace Kelly, is no slouch in the style stakes, having been the face of Gucci and Saint Laurent fashion brands. Her wedding style, both for the civil ceremony and reception, shows that she has all the style, as well as the wonderful looks of her grandmother.

For the civil ceremony, Charlotte kept it very sleek and modern in a mini dress and heels. The stone-coloured brocade dress by was from Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello and incorporated large pretty bows into the design. She wore her hair loose, which gave the whole look an effortless feel, and was chic and elegant.

But it was the stunning look she wore for her evening reception that has really got fashion buzzing. The glorious white Chanel gown with its strapless design and cinched style bodice, teamed with a hairdo that very much resembled her grandmothers, had all style spotters proclaiming on how much this whole look was reminiscent of Princess Grace in the 1950s, around the time she married Prince Rainier. Add in the fact that the exquisite necklace that Charlotte was wearing was from Cartier, and was given to Grace by Rainier when they wed in 1956, and you very much have a thoroughly modern Princess taking her style cues from the past masters.

Husband Dimitri was also no slouch in the style stakes, in a tuxedo with greased back hair, he seemed to nod to the King of 1970s style, Bryan Ferry, and contrasted wonderfully against the sheer beauty of his new wife.

Charlotte and Dimitri are definitely going to be ones to watch on the fashion scene and front rows.

Sharing is caring!
