Cocktail Hour Inspiration From Joe Browns

One of the things I missed most of all during the lockdown was the chance to get dressed up, and spend some quality time with my sister, drinking cocktails and putting the world to rights. Sure, we talked a lot on Whatsapp, and sometimes there was gin involved, but that whole world of socialising, being glamorous just for a night, and generally enjoying something decedent in a pretty glass went by the wayside.

A last cocktail before lockdown.

Of course, lockdown proved that cocktails can be enjoyed anywhere, including our homes, whether it be the sort you could find in a can from the supermarket, or if you got quite creative and followed instructions from a book that helped you create the perfect Cosmo or Mojito.

But with bars and restaurants now open, we truly can get back to enjoying cocktail hour. Joe Browns are celebrating this fact and are helping you to find not only the perfect cocktail, but the perfect styling to go with it. They have introduced a fabulous online quiz which matches your tastes and personality to your ideal cocktail, and then suggests the perfect outfit in which to enjoy it, whether you are staying in, or painting the town red. (Mine was Mimosa – a fabulous choice it must be said.)

Take the Quiz

Not only are Joe Browns looking at your perfect cocktail, their new Autumn/Winter range has some amazing looks that are perfect, whatever your style. They explain:

Joe Browns take a “mixology” approach to their designs, creating distinctive clothes that speak to adventurous spirits. Whether your wardrobe is playful like the flavours of a Mojito, laid back like a Sea Breeze, or smooth like the Cuba Libre, it’s all about embracing your own style!

If you want to do casual elegance, they have pieces that will give you the look, but if you want to really dress up, there are pieces that will also fit the bill. Their dress collection has classic wrap styles that suit all body shapes and are a fashion staple, whilst there are also vintage style floral prints that are great transitional pieces as we try to cling on to Summer.

Check out the glorious Forbidden Fruit dress that I am wearing below. The print and colours are just gorgeous in this fitted, vintage style dress. The sweetheart neckline is very flattering for a bigger bust, whilst the nipped in waistband and full skirt give this a 1950’s feel and allow the dress to fit and flare in a totally flattering way.

I wore the dress to a family meal on Saturday night and can confirm that this dress is perfectly accessorised by a Pornstar Martini!

How are you planning to enjoy cocktails this Autumn? Have you ventured out yet or are you still enjoying time at home?
