Duchess Kate looks fab in Jaeger
Today I was, more than ever, envious of the Duchess of Cambridge, as she got to spend the morning with the totally swoonsome Sir Ben Ainslie, one of my top crushes. Kate was attending a breakfast reception at the National Maritime Museum in support of Britain’s bid to host the America’s Cup in 2017.
The Duchess opted to wear a beautiful, nautical coloured dress from Jaeger. This dress created another online stampede. It was in the current Jaeger sale, reduced to £99, and was, this morning, available in all sizes. Then the images emerged of Kate looking cool and chic in the white and navy dress, and, of course, it then instantly sold out. The Kate effect had struck again!
This is one of my fave Kate looks ever. The effect of the white dress with the navy trim was cool and fresh. The use of nautical navy and white was a great nod to the occasion, but this was not a costume, Kate was not dressed in a sailor suit. Instead the look was perfect for the warm summer day, and a great alternative to the more traditional black and white.
Dorothy Perkins has some great navy and white (and black and white) pencil dresses in its current collection. These are perfect for a formal occasion, or as a summer dress that is still smart and practical for office wear.
