Family tourism in Fuerteventura

Fuerteventura may just be the perfect place for family holiday. The second largest of the Canary Islands, which are well known for their all year around sunshine, Fuerteventura is a place of perfect sandy beaches, glorious sunshine and pretty resorts. It is a paradise for people of all ages, but it is especially good for those with children, as it is calmer and less hectic than its big sister Gran Canaria, making it more family friendly and enjoyable.

The stunning beaches of Fuerteventura are literally to die for, acres of white sand that seem to stretch for miles and miles. This makes the island popular for those who enjoy watersports like surfing, water skiing and windsurfing. There is always a cool breeze wrapped around the island, which makes the heat for more bearable and comfortable, but can leave you with unexpected sunburn, so you must take care with your holiday skin.

Corralejo

A gorgeous place to take your family in Fuerteventura is Corralejo. This is probably the most popular of all resorts in Fuerteventura and is the setting of the Corralejo Natural Park, home to endangered wildlife and Montaña Roja, a volcano with panoramic views, and is also near to Lobos Island a nature preserve with rare birds. Corralejo was once a sleepy fishing village, but has now grown into a lovely, family friendly resort that is dotted with a range of eateries, including what some consider to be the best place for ice cream in Fuerteventura.

There is plenty to do in Corralejo including spending time at the beach, and exploring the El Campanario Market on Sunday. You can also take a range of boat trips to see more the the area, including the nature reserve at Los Lobos, a definite must if your children are obsessed with nature. There are plenty of hotels in Corralejo, but if you are travelling with a family, particularly young children, you may want to look at the  Apartments to rent in Corralejo, which can give you a more home from home feel. With the only water park on Fuerteventura, Acua Park, situated in Corralejo, this is definitely a resort that children will absolutely love, and will want to return to year after year.
