Friday Fashion: Maggio Shoes, Inspired By Greece, Made In Italy
Marilyn Monroe said it best. ‘Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world.’ I’m pretty sure if Marilyn was around today she’d be talking about the shoes from luxury Italian made stilettos from shoe brand Maggio, who seem to have got everything right when it comes to design, colour, make and comfort.
Maggio shoes are a thing of beauty. They are made in Italy, so you know that you can expect real quality and workmanship, but the inspiration behind the shoe is all about Greece and are all designed by Maggio founder Marianna Kontogeorgos.
I am in love the beauty and design of Maggio shoes, and in particular, with the perfect summer nude design, the Hemera Nude, a shoe that I personally think the Duchess of Cambridge, known for her love of a nude heel, would kill for.
Why do I love this shoe so much? Where do I start? First, the gloss of the shoe is so glamorous, made as it is in gorgeous patent leather. If the shoe was plain in design, that alone would still be enough, but this front of the shoe has a beautiful gold swirl buckle detail that is made to suggest the circle of life and adds a Greek key style elegance to the design, and gives them a Summer feel.
I love the fact they have a pointed toe, so much sexier than a round toe design, and that there is some, but not too much toe cleavage, something that often divides opinions. The heel is 7.5cm, this makes them high, but not too high, certainly not vertiginous enough to be something you struggle to walk on, or even fall off. This also means that they are comfortable enough to wear for longer periods of time, and, as they also come in a black version (nappa nero) could make them a most elegant work shoe that would certainly work with a more tailored dress or suit.
The fabulous nude shade means that these are shoes that will match well with any, and every colour in your wardrobe. They look great with my floral tea dress, but would also work with an evening look, or even with jeans and a crisp white shirt. As I have mentioned, they would work well as a luxurious work shoe, certainly making a style statement, and they also come in a further two colours, Aloe Green and Rubino Red, if you want to make a colour splash.
All Maggio shoes come beautifully boxed in a perfect pink shoe box, and have a lovely dustbag to further aid storage. If you wondered why Carrie Bradshaw chose 2021 to make her comeback, I’m guessing she’s heard about Maggio shoes!
