Boho Inspiration from Duchess Kate

The successful Royal tour of India and Bhutan is now at an end, and it has to be said that watching Duchess Kate’s wardrobe has been an absolute joy. She has moved away from her regular, classic style and embraced an Eastern inspired wardrobe which has been a veritable feast of colour and boho inspiration.

Kate’s wardrobe has been a mixture of clever High Street Pieces and designer outfits, including a red Tory Burch kaftan style dress that was worn on exactly the same day by Hollywood star Drew Barrymore. The wardrobe worked so well for this tour, looking cool and relaxed in the hot temperatures, and very modern and young. The long sleeves. midi and maxi length skirts and beautiful prints are quite a departure from Kate’s regular looks, which often embrace block colour and neat elegance, but I have to say I totally approve, loving every single look.

Boho has been a big fashion story since the days of Talitha Getty in Marrakesh in the late 1960s, and we saw a big resurgence in the style when Sienna Miller emerged onto the fashion scene.  Boho is a Summer style that always works on holiday, at festivals and (if) we get a long hot summer, as thin cotton fabrics keep us looking and feeling cool.
